Our Omega S.T.E.M. Fest and partnership with Rainbow PUSH continue to gain media attention, now featured by WBEZ and the Chicago Sun-Times!

A powerful reminder that our commitment to Scholarship and Uplift extends far beyond the walls of Omega.

This is the Talented Tenth in action!

Held during Jackson’s birthday weekend, organizers said the programming reflected the values Jackson championed throughout his life and his deep ties to Omega Psi Phi, the fraternity he joined in 1960 and served in district and international leadership roles.

THE TALENTED TENTH MAKES HEADLINES! 📰

Our work is making news — and more importantly, making a difference!

The Chicago Sun-Times has featured the Tenth District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and our partnership with the Rainbow PUSH Coalition following Saturday’s Omega S.T.E.M. Fest and Youth Leadership Conference.

Held during our historic 90th Fall Council, this initiative represents more than a weekend of programming. It reflects our enduring commitment to Scholarship, Uplift, and the continuation of the legacy of our beloved Brother, the late Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.

From hands-on science experiments to meaningful conversations about civic engagement, our young people were challenged to think, explore, and envision their futures.

We extend our appreciation to the brothers, organizers, educators, volunteers, and community partners who made this possible.

The Talented Tenth is not simply gathering. We are making an impact.

We extend our heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to Brother Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan, the Farrakhan family, and the Nation of Islam during this time of bereavement. Having so recently mourned the transition of Mother Khadijah Farrakhan, we especially lift the family in prayer as they experience another profound loss.

Today, we stand with the Jelani Day Foundation as family, friends and supporters gather for the 4th Annual All Black Gala.

Nearly five years ago, 25-year-old Illinois State University graduate student Jelani Day disappeared. His body was later recovered from the Illinois River, but the circumstances surrounding his death remain unanswered.

Out of unimaginable loss, Jelani’s family chose to build something that would help others.

The Jelani Day Foundation works to ensure that families searching for missing loved ones—particularly missing persons of color—have access to the resources, advocacy and support they need. That work includes helping families conduct searches, navigate law enforcement, engage the media and access therapeutic services.

Tonight, that mission takes center stage with nationally renowned civil rights attorney Ben Crump serving as keynote speaker.

But at the heart of everything remains Jelani.

His name. His life. His family’s determination. And a question that has never gone away:

What happened to Jelani Day?

As we support the Foundation and the families it serves, we continue to say his name and stand behind the pursuit of answers, equity and justice.

💜 Justice for Jelani.

ABC 7 Chicago recently spoke with Jelani’s siblings, Dacara Bolden and D’Andre Day, about tonight’s gala and their family’s continued fight for justice.
