$55 to $85 to register a group of photographs just to protect your copyrights. That would be a nearly 55% increase, and that's not acceptable.

The Copyright Office’s proposed fee increase would apply to a group of up to 750 published or unpublished photographs. For photographers who register throughout the year, those increases add up.

Tell the Copyright Office what higher fees would mean for your work. Check out the letter tool where you can generate your letter, then copy it into your own email and send it to the office.

A senior executive at Microsoft believes A.I. systems built on the work of others will be seen as “an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions” and possibly the greatest robbery of labor in human history, according to court documents unredacted Thursday in an ongoing Manhattan lawsuit.

Reached for comment, attorney Steven Lieberman, leading the Daily News’ legal efforts , said the new disclosures prove the companies are knowingly committing theft, as opposed to operating within the parameters of the “fair use” doctrine as they claim.
