Our athletes are more than athletes.

They are coworkers. Friends. Volunteers. Neighbors. Sons and daughters. Community members. And every week, we get the privilege of watching them show up, work hard, build friendships, grow in confidence, and remind us what inclusion can look like when a community chooses to invest in its people.

Many of the athletes and families within Special Olympics Delaware County are connected to services and supports made possible through the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

On November 3, Delaware County voters will consider a 1.8-mill levy for DCBDD. Levy dollars help fund services that support more than 2,300 children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout our county—from early intervention and personal care to employment supports, transportation, community participation, and opportunities for greater independence.

At Special Olympics, we know firsthand that inclusion doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people, organizations, families, coaches, providers, and communities work together to make sure people with disabilities have opportunities to live, work, participate, belong, and thrive.

We encourage everyone in our Special Olympics family to learn about the upcoming levy, understand what it funds, and make an informed decision when you vote this November.
Because when people with disabilities have the support they need, our entire community is stronger.

Frank and Jennifer have been a HUGE part of the Delaware Racers and our bowling team calls Penn Lanes home. Wonderful humans!

Penn Lanes is a place that encompasses more than just bowling. With a rich grassroots history, it is a place that is for the entire community to enjoy.

The time has come, Racers! Our winter season signups are officially open! All registration forms can be found on our website (www.sodcoh.org/sports). Reminder that all athletes need to have their complete intake or renewal forms, as well as a medical form signed by a medical professional to be able to compete.

We are offering the following sports this season:

- Aquatics (Swimming)
- Men's and Women's Basketball
- Bowling
- Cheerleading

Please note: only bowling practice days and times have been confirmed at this time. Updates for our other sports will be communicated as we have them.
