Today, we pause with heavy hearts as we remember Joseph “Joe” Scherler II, a longtime supporter, coach, mentor, and friend to so many in our Special Olympics community.

Joe wasn’t just someone who volunteered his time. He was the kind of person who quietly showed up, encouraged others, lent a helping hand, and made people feel seen.

Our athletes, families, and community are better because Joe was part of it. His impact lives on in every athlete he encouraged, every smile he helped create, and every life he touched along the way.

We are holding his family and loved ones close during this difficult time. Thank you, Joe, for the legacy of compassion and community you leave behind. You will not be forgotten. ❤️
