We're excited to welcome John Faas as YWCA Dayton's new Director of Executive Services, working closely alongside President & CEO Barbara Ward.

John brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, development, fundraising, and the performing arts, including leadership roles with Richmond Civic Theatre, Columbus Children's Theatre, The Human Race Theatre Company, Muse Machine, Victoria Theatre Association, and Dayton Opera.

In his new role, John will serve as a key extension of the President & CEO's office, helping strengthen relationships with our donors, partners, and community. We're thrilled to have John on the team and look forward to introducing him to even more of our YWCA community in the months ahead.

We are incredibly grateful to GOSIGER for a generous $10,000 gift to YWCA Dayton in honor of Sandy Gudorf, recipient of the Dayton Business Journal’s Jane Haley Award.

This gift was presented at Dayton’s Women Who Mean Business event, which celebrates the city’s most influential and powerful women across many business sectors.

This gift is more than financial support. It is an investment in women, in Dayton and in a stronger community.

Because of partners like Gosiger, our team can continue showing up every day for women and families who need safety, housing, advocacy, opportunity and someone standing beside them to remind them: Your voice matters. You matter.

Thank you, Gosiger, for believing in our mission and helping us carry it forward. And congratulations to Sandy and all of the Women Who Mean Business honorees on this well-deserved recognition!

Today is Women’s Equality Day. But advancing equity for women isn’t something we recognize just one day a year. It’s work we show up for every day.

At YWCA Dayton, we’re working to create a community where women are safe, supported and empowered to build the futures they deserve.

Today, we celebrate how far we’ve come. Tomorrow, we keep going.

Access to healthcare is an important part of building stability for women and families in our community.

YWCA Dayton recently joined local partners for a community conversation about upcoming Medicaid changes and the resources available to help people navigate them.

While we do not administer Medicaid or provide medical care, many of the women and families we serve may qualify for Medicaid based on factors like income and housing status. Barriers to healthcare can have a ripple effect, impacting job security, caring for children, food security, housing and more.

That’s why conversations and strategic partnerships like these are critical. When we work together to address the many pieces that contribute to stability, we can better support women and families on their path forward.

Investing in our team means better serving our community. Members of our leadership team recently completed Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training through a partnership with the , secured by YWCA Dayton’s Development Committee and Chair Dr. Sharon Bommer. The partnership provided the training at no cost to YWCA, resulting in an estimated $30,000 in cost savings.

The training equips our team with practical tools to improve processes, reduce inefficiencies, solve problems more effectively and ultimately create better outcomes for the people and communities we serve.
