Next week, Oct. 19–23, we’re joining YWCAs across the country to center young voices in the movement to end gender-based violence.

During YWCA’s Week Without Violence, we are shining a spotlight on a critical reality: young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, grooming, and exploitation, yet their voices are often missing from conversations about prevention, healing, and systemic change.

Through storytelling, education, and dialogue, Week Without Violence will create space for young people, survivors, advocates, and communities to come together to envision a future free from violence.

There are two ways to show your support tomorrow for survivors of domestic violence. On Thursday, October 15, we're coming together to raise awareness, celebrate resilience and stand in solidarity with survivors of domestic violence. Here's how you can join us:

💜 Wear Purple for Purple Thursday! Purple is the color of Domestic Violence Awareness, and wearing it is a simple but powerful way to show your support for survivors and your commitment to a community free from violence. Snap a photo in your purple and tag us so we can share your support!

🎟️ Join us for Voices Against Violence! It's not too late to grab your tickets for tomorrow evening's event at the Dayton Arcade. Join us for a celebration of hope and resilience, including the presentation of our Vision of Hope Award, recognizing women and organizations who embody the spirit of survivorship and resilience.

This past weekend, YWCA Dayton’s Ashley Fleck and Keely Watkins toured the Dayton Dream Center and connected with Dream Center team members Chelsey and Amarri.

The Dayton Dream Center provides a variety of programs and resources designed to meet critical community needs, including youth enrichment and after-school programming, recovery support, hot meals and access to essential services like clothing, laundry and personal care.

We’re excited to explore opportunities to collaborate and build on our shared commitment to empowering individuals, strengthening families and creating a more supportive community for all.
