Help us make a difference this winter guard season!!

Did you know…? The Dayton Pride Guard fundraises for and sponsors the Patsy Simmons Performer Scholarship. A scholarship awarded to Independent Winter Guard Performers which was created in honor of Patsy Simmons.

Patsy’s legacy stretches far across this activity, as she was known for her kindness, generosity and commitment to helping support programs and performers near and far. With this scholarship, we hope to honor our friend and help performers continue their dreams of marching and performing.

Over the past two years, we’ve given close to $5,000 in scholarships! This upcoming season we’re hoping to give out SIX $500 scholarships. That means we need to raise $3,000.

If you could spare $5, $10, $20 - whatever you can, every cent counts and every dollar the Dayton Pride Guard collects each year goes directly to this scholarship. We don’t keep a dime from year to year.

The Dayton Pride Guard is excited to return for our 5th year this summer! We will be performing in the Dayton Pride Parade, Columbus Pride Parade, and Cincinnati Pride!

Registration is open NOW until May 6th! Follow the link below and fill out the forms to register. Due to high interest, there will be a limited number of spots available.

In order to be CONFIRMED to participate, you must complete the following:
-Registration Form
-Release and Agreement Form
-Submit your payment. (Note: when paying, purchase the “General Membership” ticket + the parades you want to participate in.)

Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients for the 2026 season. In total, we were able to provide five $500 scholarships to these performers. These funds will go directly to their dues for marching this year.

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Patsy Simmons Performers Scholarship fund for making this possible. We are so grateful for the continued support we are provided to make this scholarship a reality.

We're Excited to Announce Applications for the 2nd Annual Patsy Simmons Performer Scholarship are NOW OPEN!

Five $500 Scholarships will be awarded to participants in the 2026 competitive winter guard season. To be eligible, you must be a member of an independent organization competing in the 2026 winter guard season. Competing at WGI World Championships is not a requirement. Scholarships funds will be given on behalf of the recipient directly to the organization they are participating with. Application deadline is Sunday, December 14, 2025. Scholarships will be awarded by December 31, 2025.

Patricia (Patsy) Simmons passed away in 2023. Although she is no longer with us, her impact on the color guard and winter guard world can be felt throughout our tight knit community. Patsy was known for being a generous donor not only to individuals performing in the activity but also to organizations as a whole seeking funds to offer performance opportunities. She had a career and involvement in the activity that spanned decades and worked directly with organizations such as LaSalle High School (Cincinnati), Zydeco Colorguard (Dayton), Pride of Cincinnati (Cincinnati) and Consortio Winterguard (Cincinnati) just to name a few. Her financial contributions spanned far wider impacting people throughout multiple states across the U.S. This scholarship will continue Patsy's legacy of helping those seeking opportunities to continue their passion to perform.

Today is our final day for our annual fundraiser and we're SOOOO CLOSE! If every one of our followers donated just $1, we'd be FAR beyond our goal. Please consider a donation of ANY amount so that we can give performers a chance at a scholarship to keep doing what they love. It's the only scholarship we know of that directly offsets performers marching dues. Thank you in advance for your kindness! I know Patsy would be grateful as well!
