“Tools for our Mental Wellbeing” was the theme at the recent Youth Camp Mariposa weekend, and it was filled with learning new tools for our own mental health which includes playing, creating, meditating, supporting others and learning how to A.C.T. (Acknowledge, Care and Tell a trusted adult) if they know a peer is struggling with their mental health.

Swimming is always a fun summer Camp activity and what goes better with that than s’mores around the campfire! Camp Mariposa is transforming lives, one weekend at a time 🦋

As our Building for Growth campaign comes to a close, here at East End Community Services we are continuing to focus on creating opportunities that last. Real growth takes time. It happens when children, families, and individuals know they have people in their corner who will encourage them, support them, and walk alongside them through life's challenges and successes.

Strong families are built over time, just like the support that helps them thrive.

Every day at East End Community Services, we see the impact of showing up consistently. Students gain confidence through academic support and mentorship in our Miracle Makers program. Caregivers build new skills and strengthen relationships through our Strengthening Families curriculum. Families find new opportunities through events like Conversation for Change that connect them with resources and support their overall wellbeing.

The stories look different across East End's many programs, but they all have something in common. Progress happens when people know they can count on support that is there when they need it.

Giving our Teen Campers an opportunity for connection and fun with Mentors is one of the many important layers of the work that we are doing with Camp Mariposa! The outing was full of bowling, pizza, arcade games and multiple rounds of laser tag (do you think the campers beat the Mentors? Possibly 😉) Thank you to Eluna for supporting these important connectons outside of Camp!

Our Camp Mariposa families recently gathered for the annual Family Night, designed for connection, support, education, resources, creativity and fun! Giving our parents and grandparents similar tools that their campers receive helps strengthen the whole family. Each adult went home with a self-care kit, fresh vegetables and the campers/siblings went home with many handmade creations. A big thank you to Eluna for supporting these important family connections 🦋

💙 Meet Rebekah Cotner, LPCC-S! 💙

We’re excited to welcome Rebekah Cotner, LPCC-S, to East End Community Services by WestCare Ohio as our Licensed Clinical Supervisor.

Rebekah provides individual counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of focus include trauma, mood disorders, substance use, and family or relationship challenges. Limited case management support is also available to help individuals and families connect with community resources and services.

If you or someone you know could benefit from counseling services, we’d love to connect. Our clinical services are free for participants through December 31, 2026.
