The practical electric self-starter debuted in the 1912 Cadillac Model 30, eliminating the dangerous hand crank that had caused countless injuries.

Starting a car wasn’t always as simple as turning a key or pressing a button. Today, the vehicle can be seen at Carillon Historical Park (Dayton History).

"Be authentic, be consistent, and be available."

On Friday, June 12, Generation Dayton Day brought together the region’s future leaders to get out and give back through volunteer service across the community.

The day began with a keynote presentation from Monnie Bush, Founder and CEO of The Victory Project, who shared his inspiring story and the impact of volunteering, mentorship, and community engagement.

During the kickoff, participants selected one of eleven volunteer sites where they would serve throughout the Dayton region.

- Crayons to Classrooms
- Daybreak Dayton
- Five Rivers MetroParks
- Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton

Judy Budi, President and CEO of Graceworks Lutheran Services, represented the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, June 9, and threw out the first pitch at the Dayton Dragons Professional Baseball Team vs. Fort Wayne TinCaps game.

Judy also serves as Chair of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees.

She must have been good luck, as the Dayton Dragons Professional Baseball Team won 12 - 2!
