Fathers joined their children for donuts and playground time. A simple but meaningful reminder of the importance of connection and family. Moments like these are at the heart of what we do. 💙

On this Juneteenth, we pause to honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and reflect on what true freedom and equity mean for every person. Dignity, independence, and access to opportunity are not just values we work toward. They're the reason we show up every day.

URS will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day.

It is a day that represents freedom, dignity, and equality for all people. Values that are at the very heart of everything we do at URS. We are proud to serve a diverse community and remain committed to inclusion, respect, and opportunity for everyone who walks through our doors.

Dayton has always been a leader in inclusion and accessibility, and we love seeing that continue to grow. A new universal changing table at Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park means more people with disabilities can fully enjoy our community's public spaces. 🙌

A new universal changing table is making Dayton more accessible for people with disabilities!

Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park visitors can now use a height-adjustable changing table, thanks to a partnership between the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services, Changing Spaces Ohio, and the National Park Service.

This addition ensures that more people can participate in community activities and enjoy public spaces.

Meet Ethan. 🌟

Ethan began speech therapy at URS in early 2026 with a goal of improving his functional communication. While he could express himself through some gestures and vocalizations, he often felt frustrated when others couldn't understand his wants and needs, and that frustration is completely valid.

His Speech-Language Pathologist introduced him to an augmentative communication device, and Ethan got to work. He trialed many different devices, put in the time, the repetition, and the effort to find the right fit and learn to use it. Along the way he learned to request preferred activities, label common vocabulary, and communicate when he doesn't want something.

However, Ethan did not have a device to use at home, so his frustration would return, and we are so happy to say that after many months of waiting, Ethan's very own device has arrived! He now has access to a communication system that is truly his. One he can use in every environment, every single day.

We are so proud of you, Ethan. Keep talking, we are listening. 💙

The countdown is ON!

In just 99 days, thousands of rubber ducks will race down the river at the 23rd Annual Rubber Duck Regatta presented by AES Ohio at RiverScape MetroPark, all to support children and adults with disabilities at United Rehabilitation Services.

Adoptions open July 20, and the grand prize lucky duck takes home $2,500 CASH.
