There are no scheduled events or open hours.
Sew It Forwards Saturdays on August 22 and September 5 will happen.

Since the Dayton Daily News article about the Dayton Sewing Collaborative was published in mid-June, we’ve been inundated with donations. ‘Sew’ many donations! The generosity shown by the Dayton community never ceases to amaze us! We’ve already used some to make items for local community organizations, such as: blankets and fidget blankets for the Dayton VA Medical Center; pocket hugs and marble mazes for Crayons to Classrooms, hats for HTC Dayton; Dayton Dream Center....to name a few.

We’ve been overwhelmed with offers of donations coming in via messenger, phone calls, emails, voicemails. We’ve tried to respond to each offer, but we’re concerned that some of the donation offers may have fallen through the cracks. If any of you have reached out to us regarding a donation and you haven’t been contacted yet, please send a message, email ([email protected]) or call 937-476-1455 or 937-528-6384 (please leave a message).

If you were at the sale today and realize that you didn't pay for your purchase, please reach out to us. I was checking someone out and got distracted and forgot to scan their credit/debit card 🙄

Thanks for coming out to support the Dayton Sewing Collaborative at the flash sale of apparel / garment weight fabric and needleport sale. The proceeds of the sale goes directly to support our workforce development program, Dayton Train to Sew. The proceeds allow us to continue to offer this training program for FREE. We couldn't do what we do with the support of our generous community!

Big thanks to all of the volunteers that spends hours preparing for the sale by cutting, measuring, tagging, hauling and working the sale. They are the lifeblood of this organization.

Our next sale is going to be October 2 & 3. More details to come!

Heads Up to fashionistas, designers, garment-makers and needlecrafter! The Dayton Sewing Collaborative is having a one-day FLASH SALE featuring garment-weight fabrics AND needlepoint/cross-stitch items on Saturday, August 8 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

We find ourselves with more than 35 large tubs ...thousands of yards...of garment-weight and apparel fabrics such as corduroy, wools, jersey knits, suiting, gabardine, chiffon, satins, linings, fake fur, suede, etc. All of these fabrics are pre-owned cuts that were donated to the DSC.

Special shout-out to renaissance people and costume makers, there are several fabrics available that would be perfect for renaissance outfits. Lots of vintage fabrics! We'll also have UNUSED new patterns, button and notions.

Additionally, the FLASH sale will also feature needlepoint, cross-stitch, embroidery items such as AIDA cloth, waste cloth, floss, hoops and kits.

Most fabric is priced at $5 / yard.
With a $10 purchase, you can grab 2 free 6000-yd cones of thread.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This is NOT one of our big sales! There WILL NOT be any quilting fabrics, grab bags ,etc. We have a BIG SALE tentatively planned for October 2 – 3.

The FLASH SALE is on Saturday, August 8 from 9 a.m. - 1. No early birds. Doors will open promptly at 9 a.m.

The address of the sale is 660 S. Main Street, Dayton, OH (Goodwill Easter Seals Building). You will need to access the parking lot from Lincoln Street....(some parking lot entrances are blocked on the weekends). Please come to the outer doors marked with a sign and yellow balloons (parking lot side of the building). Please DO NOT block the Goodwill drive-thru donation area.

Arrrgh, I created this post earlier in the week, but for whatever reason it didn't post.....

Art in the City is tomorrow, August 1! We're honored to have been selected as an experiential grant recipient again this year. This year our project is titled "Dreaming in Dayton" and the activities are centered around dream catchers and mandalas. We have multiple activities for people of all ages!

For our friends that are used to us being at the Library for Art in the City, please note that our booth this year is in the center of the Arcade rotunda (end 35 W Fourth Street). We look forward to seeing our returning friends and meeting some new friends!
