Miami Valley Adaptive Color Guard - MVACG The Miami Valley Adaptive Color Guard is a color guard program for special needs students throughout the Miami Valley! www.mvacg.org

The Miamisburg Adaptive Needs Color guard began in August of 2012. Throughout its first fall and winter season, the color guard was very successful. After the first season, the group became the Miami Valley Adaptive color guard and welcomed members from all over the area. Over these years, the MVACG has grown into a family that includes performers from the entire Miami Valley Region. The color gua

rd is directed by Cathy Barnes­-Miller and Emily Karwisch. Staff includes Julie Bolton, Brittney Peppo, Bridget Fricke, Kayla Wootan, Kelly Johnston, and Caroline Weir.

Congratulations to our Rheanna. She graduated from transition. The transition house is an adult program that teaches people life skills like cooking and cleaning and navigating the community like riding public transportation and volunteering on job sites and teaching socialization skills.

The stole was made in Guatemala. The blue and gold cord is for being a thespian. The silver cord is for attending baccalaureate. The light blue cord is from her advisory teacher. The medal was earned for graduating Cum Laude (gpa of 3.5 or higher). (Shared with her mom’s permission).

Every step, every moment on the floor is built on courage, teamwork, and the kind of strength you can’t always see. That’s what it means to have the heart of a champion.
