Sometimes the best part of an event happens before it even begins.

While setting up for the 2026 ODVS Veterans Conference, we met a family preparing to ride the OTET—Bryce & Cindy, then out walked Brother Jack Fish, celebrating his 85th birthday the best way he knows how: riding 85 miles.

HOOYAH!

This is what Warriors on Wheels Cycling is all about—connection, showing up, and drawing inspiration from the people we meet along the way.

Cindy, Bryce, and Brother Jack, it was an honor meeting you. Thank you for sharing your dad’s wisdom and reminding us that age is just a number when purpose is still leading the way.

WELCOME TO THE TRIBE

Today we welcome Roderick Simms, a medically retired Master Sergeant (E-7) of the United States Air Force.

Recommended by our brother Mike “Speedy,” Arroyo, Roderick came to Warriors on Wheels Cycling with one goal—to continue pushing forward. After a spinal injury ended his military career, he chose not to quit. He chose a new path.

We were honored to equip Roderick with a high-performance recumbent bicycle that meets his physical needs while allowing him to ride competitively and pursue the sport he loves.

This isn’t just about a bike.

It’s about resilience.
It’s about purpose.
It’s about proving that a setback is never the end of the story.

Today was another reminder of why we do what we do.

After receiving a referral from the Dayton VA Occupational Therapy Team, our Warriors on Wheels Ambassador Team had the honor of presenting a hybrid mountain bike, helmet, and Warriors on Wheels team shirt to U.S. Air Force Veteran Cindy as she begins her cycling journey.

Warriors on Wheels Cycling is an opportunity for healing, connection, renewed purpose, and hope.
