The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has received a $350,000 grant from the Walton Family Foundation to advance agricultural research and career readiness in Southeast Arkansas!
Dr. Sathish Ponniah, professor of plant science, will expand UAPB’s sweetpotato research, supporting the production of virus-indexed planting material for regional growers and providing hands-on research opportunities for graduate students.
Dr. Kimberly Haynie, associate professor of nutrition and food science, will lead youth development initiatives, helping students explore careers in agriculture and food industries through entrepreneurship training and career-ready certifications.
