We're the volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation and fundraising arm that works to ensure every Solar Prep student has equal access to educational opportunities in order to realize their full potential. The Solar Preparatory Schools (Solar Prep) are Dallas public schools founded in 2016 for Girls and 2018 for Boys serving a socio-economically diverse student base. Led by award-winning and competit

ively selected faculty and administration employing a research-driven educational model design that is tailored to how scholars learn best and delivers for its students the dual mission of STEAM-focused academic acceleration and social and emotional learning that prepares them to be effective leaders in the real world and beyond their years at Solar. Its vision is to prepare scholars for success in a challenging, nurturing, and inclusive performance-based learning environment. Years ago, Friends of Solar Prep began a fund for a scholarship in the name of Jennifer Turner, one of the founders of Solar Prep for Girls and an inspiration to so many. Now we are deeply honored to announce the Jennifer Turner Scholarship for Solar Prep alumni who will be high school seniors next year. It’s a profound honor to be able to help support the college journey of the first class of Solar Preparatory School for Girls high school graduates and many classes of Solar trailblazers to come as they carry on Jennifer’s indomitable and joyous spirit.

And then there’s the 7th graders looking to to the new 8th grade wall Solar Preparatory School for Girls introducing our fierce class of 2027 🤩 We’re so proud to help make this Solar tradition possible!

Feels like a day to celebrate generations of empowered girls who lead with passion and purpose and the educators who lead them to shine 🌟💜

Friends of Solar Prep was so so proud to host the Second Annual Solar Prep Debate Invitational at Solar Preparatory School for Girls 🎤

Endless thanks to all the judges who very generously gave up the better part of Saturday to volunteer their time, judgment, feedback and expertise 🙏 And ENORMOUS congrats to all the brave bold students who participated!! Special shout out to Solar Preparatory for Boys who took home first place once again this year 🏆 and to all the coaches who are teaching our scholars to listen carefully and speak with power 💪
