Another powerful night in the Valley of Akron… where enlightenment was pursued, wisdom was shared… and at least one brother achieved full REM sleep in record time. 💤😂

Let’s be honest… if you’ve never fought for your life against a comfortable chair and warm lighting during a meeting… are you even doing Scottish Rite right? 🤷‍♂️

All jokes aside, nights like these are what it’s all about… fellowship, laughter, and a room full of good men showing up (whether fully awake or spiritually horizontal).

The Valley is hard at work each Sunday. Practice after practice to memorize not only the words but the meaning and foot work to match. This reunion will be fantastic! If you are not yet a Scottish Rite mason, this is an awesome time to join!!!

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can send a Brother… is simply a reminder that he’s not alone.

The Scottish Rite Northern Masonic Jurisdiction has a simple but meaningful program called the Brother-to-Brother Card. Through this program, you can send a handwritten card of encouragement, congratulations, or support to a fellow Scottish Rite Mason anywhere in the country. The Supreme Council will send the card on your behalf.

In a world full of texts and notifications, receiving an actual letter in the mail can mean a lot. A small gesture can brighten someone’s day, lift a Brother during a difficult time, or celebrate a milestone in his life. The program exists for exactly that reason: to remind every Mason that the bonds of our fraternity extend far beyond the lodge room.

If there’s a Brother you’ve been thinking about… take a moment and send a card. It might make more of a difference than you realize.

Because sometimes the greatest act of brotherhood is simply letting someone know you’re thinking about them.

📣 Meet Brother Craig Jennings

Some men quietly carry the working tools of Masonry into their everyday lives. Brother Craig Jennings is one of those men.

Hailing originally from the hills of Pennsylvania, Craig brings that same steady, hardworking spirit to everything he does today in Ohio. He is a proud member of Star Lodge #187, where his dedication to the Craft is evident both inside and outside the lodge room.

In the Scottish Rite, Craig serves as Deputy Master in the Aroba Lodge of Perfection in the Valley of Akron, AASR, helping guide the work of the Rite and supporting the brothers who walk that path beside him. His commitment to Masonry also extends to preserving our shared spaces. Craig plays an active role in helping maintain the Cuyahoga Falls Masonic Temple, ensuring it remains a place where fellowship and tradition continue to thrive.

Outside the fraternity, Craig works in the real estate industry, helping people find the places they call home. When he is not working or serving the Craft, you will likely find him enjoying the outdoors. Deer hunting and shooting sports are among his favorite ways to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Brother Craig Jennings represents the quiet strength of Freemasonry. A man of service, skill, and steady character who shows that Masonry is not just something we practice in lodge, but something we live every day.

Congratulations to Brother Craig Jennings, our District Brother of the Week. 🏆

Great evening with great company!

Tonight, members of the Valley of Akron had the pleasure of attending the Six Valley Dinner, graciously hosted by the ANCIENT ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE VALLEY OF STEUBENVILLE As always, they were exceptional hosts and created a welcoming atmosphere for everyone in attendance.

Throughout the evening, stories were shared, ideas were exchanged, and conversations flowed easily among the leaders of our Valleys. Events like this are a great reminder that in Masonry, you never know what you might learn, who you might meet, or what idea might spark the next great step forward for our Valleys.

It’s always a privilege to spend time in fellowship with the dedicated leaders who help guide and strengthen Scottish Rite Masonry across our region. Conversations around the table tonight proved once again that when good men gather, good things happen.

Thank you again to the Valley of Steubenville for a wonderful evening! 🔺🤝

✨ Brothers — whether you’re newly-initiated or have walked the Scottish Rite road for years, the Pathfinder Program is your guide to discovering the full depth of our fraternity. Pathfinder was created to help every brother “continue the Masonic journey,” offering a structured path to explore all aspects of the Rite — from personal growth and Valley life to service and philanthropy.

🛤️ Through completion of 32 meaningful tasks (“Mile Markers”) across five distinct areas — Organization, Self-Improvement, Valley Life, Enrichment Programs, and Service & Philanthropy — you can tailor your membership experience to match your interests and values.

📘 Each Brother receives a Pathfinder Field Book (physical keepsake) and a digital Guide Book — your roadmap to engagement, growth, and connection within Scottish Rite.

📅 Join us at 7:00 PM ET on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for an interactive Pathfinder walkthrough. Our advisors will be there live to walk you through program materials, help you get started, and answer questions about how to make the most of your Rite experience.

If you want to get more involved, learn more about what Scottish Rite has to offer, or just explore new ways to connect with Brothers — this is a great first step. Hope to see you there.

Scottish Rite is wild.

You show up thinking it’s just “more Mason stuff” and next thing you know:

• You’re wearing a cap that looks like it has diplomatic immunity

• Someone calls you “Illustrious” and you’re still trying to remember where you parked

• There’s a double-headed eagle staring into your soul like it knows your search history

• You’ve learned more philosophy in one evening than you did in four years of high school

And somehow… you love it.

Where else can grown men in aprons debate morality, quote ancient texts, eat cake, and then argue about who forgot to refill the coffee pot?

Scottish Rite is basically:
📚 Philosophy
🦅 Dramatic lighting
🎩 Fancy hats
🍰 Questionable frosting decisions
🤝 Brotherhood that actually means something

You join for the degrees.
You stay because the guys become your brothers.

Also because once you’ve memorized the difference between a KCCH and a 33°, you’re too invested to leave. 😆
