On May 3rd we visited a church partner, Rubber City Church, to share about the impact they’ve had on our moms’ spiritual development and in the lives of their children. Thank you Rubber City Church for your support of the ministry.

We are in awe of the collaboration that is happening in our community for the benefit of Mothers and Babies! THANK YOU to Women of Greater Akron Charities for your incredible support!

Several members of our board were on hand to present the largest single donation in our club’s 80 year history!! We are thrilled to partner with Refuge Host Homes to sponsor their multipurpose room in their new House opening this summer! We look forward to partnering with them in the years to come to help with cooking meals and classes for the expectant mothers who will reside at the home.

We’re looking to hire some Community Life Assistants to join our team at Refuge House!

Community Life Assistants work directly with pregnant and parenting women experiencing homelessness to support their journey toward self-sufficiency. In this hourly staff role, team members help cultivate a safe, loving, and supportive environment at Refuge House.

This month, we are excited to continue our monthly rhythm at the new location! Come prepared to be outdoors as we pray over this building, ministry, and all God that will do through it. (If there’s rain, we’ll move to the chapel.)

We are looking for volunteers to help us prep and move into Refuge House!

Tasks will include cleaning, painting, organizing, and moving furniture. We have signup slots every day beginning May 26, so check out the link in our bio to find out more info and to sign up!

We’re so excited to share this news with all of you! We will be moving into a building that’ll greatly serve the ministry of Refuge Host Homes, and it will be called Refuge House.

Refuge House will be a Maternity Emergency Shelter located in Cuyahoga Falls that provides immediate temporary housing for vulnerable pregnant women. This place will serve as the first step in supportive housing and relationship building.
​
​​During their stay at Refuge House, we’ll aim to help mothers feel safe, cared for, and connected to others. Our Client Care team will support residents and assist them in forming the plan for their next step (whether going into a Refuge Host Home or another community program).
​
Our offices will also be located in this building, as well as a gathering space for mothers and their children, including program alumni.

Following her experience in one of our host homes, we asked one of our mommas: “How do you think God has strengthened you to navigate this current phase of your life?”

Her reply was filled with an encouraging, timeless truth:

“He never left my side. He’s with me and my babies all the time.”

Glory be to God that He is always with us! Because He first loved us, we strive to also come alongside pregnant women and point them back to Christ.
