As one of the oldest rural life museums in the country, The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown, New York provides visitors with a unique opportunity to experience 19th-century rural and village life through demonstrations and interpretive exhibits. The museum, founded in 1943, comprises a working farmstead, a recreated historic village, the Empire State Carousel, and a Colonial Revival stone barn list

ed on the National Register for Historic Places. The museum preserves important examples of upstate New York architecture, early agricultural tools and equipment, and heritage livestock. Its collection encompasses over 23,000 significant historic objects ranging from butter molds to carriages, hand planes to plows.

Fenimore Farm’s very first Scarecrow Village: Once Upon a Time is looking for creative minds to join the fun!

From fairy tales and folklore to fantasy worlds, nursery rhymes and literary classics, we’re inviting artists, schools, businesses, community groups and imaginative makers of all kinds to create a scarecrow display for this one-of-a-kind autumn experience.

Selected creations will become part of a self-guided Scarecrow Village experience for visitors to enjoy this season. Applications are now open.

The Templeton Players are holding auditions for the 2026 season at Fenimore Farm THIS Saturday at 3 PM! From comedy to iconic moments in history, this season is one you’ll want to be part of 👀

Think you belong on the farm stage? Come audition! ✨

The Templeton Players are excited to announce upcoming Auditions for our 2026 summer season at Fenimore Farm and Country Village! This year we’re featuring the hysterical farce “Box and Cox,” as well as performances of iconic texts from Patrick Henry (“Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death!”) and Abigail Adams (“Remember the Ladies”) in recognition of the 250th anniversary of American independence. In-person/virtual auditions will be held at Fenimore Farm on May 30 from 3-5PM, and all roles are PAID $75 per performance day.
