Great coaches help create even greater coaches. 🎾

Before our summer programs began, Sebastian Falla spent time training our young instructors on how to teach tennis to children. From breaking down fundamentals into fun, age-appropriate activities to keeping kids engaged and building confidence, Sebastian shared the techniques and experience he’s gained throughout his professional career.

We’re incredibly grateful for his dedication to helping our coaching team grow. Thanks to his guidance, our instructors are ready to create a positive, fun, and inspiring experience for every child who steps on the court this summer.

Learning never stops! 🎾📚

On June 20, our coaching team traveled to Albany for a 4-hour USTA Coaching Workshop, where we learned new drills, teaching techniques, and best practices for creating fun, engaging, and effective tennis lessons for players of all ages.

We’re always looking for ways to improve our coaching and bring fresh ideas back to Cooperstown. Investing in our instructors means creating the best possible experience for everyone who joins us on the court.

A big thank you to USTA Eastern for providing such a valuable training opportunity!

Summer is in full swing, but our young instructors have been preparing for this moment for weeks! 🎾

Before the season began, they had the incredible opportunity to train with Saif Ali, learning not only tennis skills but also how to confidently teach adult beginners, create a welcoming environment, and bring energy and encouragement to every lesson.

A huge thank you to Saif for taking the time to share your knowledge while you were in Cooperstown. Your mentorship has helped prepare the next generation of tennis instructors! 💙🎾

🎾 Sebastian Falla is back in Cooperstown! 🎾

We’re excited to welcome Sebastian Falla originally from Popayán, Colombia, back to Cooperstown Tennis this summer!

Sebastian has coached top junior players from around the world and has been a hitting partner for ATP and WTA professionals, including Jelena Janković, Lauren Davis, and former ATP player Alejandro Falla. He also won 62 USTA Junior Tournaments and represented Colombia at the prestigious Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl tournaments.

Join Cooperstown Tennis this July at the Cooperstown High School Gymnasium for four weeks of fun, learning, and tennis!

Monday–Friday
🎾 Beginners (Grades K–3): 8:00–9:00 AM

Meet Emily!
Emily is a high school junior and former member of the Cooperstown Varsity Tennis Team who continues to compete for her current school. She began her tennis journey through Cooperstown Tennis programs and has since developed a passion for both playing and teaching the sport.

Emily has previously assisted with youth tennis programs at the Clark Sports Center and is excited to return this summer to teach kids' tennis and help with the Adult Beginner Tennis Program. Through her school, Emily is also leading a week of ACEing Autism tennis programming this summer!

Meet Alfred!
Alfred is a dedicated tennis player and member of the Cooperstown High School Varsity Tennis Team. Having grown up playing the sport, he enjoys helping others discover the game and improve their skills.

This summer, Alfred will be working with both youth and adult players, focusing on creating a positive and encouraging learning experience. He is passionate about helping beginners develop strong fundamentals, gain confidence on the court, and most importantly, have fun while learning tennis.

Meet Owen!
Owen is a college student at SUNY Geneseo and a former Cooperstown Varsity Tennis player. His tennis journey began at a young age while living abroad, and the sport has remained an important part of his life ever since.

With experience playing and competing in different environments, Owen brings a unique perspective to the court. He enjoys working with players of all ages and skill levels, helping them improve their technique, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the game.
