Another Successful Year for the Cooperstown Lions Club Chicken Barbecue! 🦁🍗

A huge THANK YOU to everyone in our community who came out and supported this year’s Cooperstown Lions Club Chicken Barbecue!

Thanks to all of you, the event was a huge success! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased a dinner, made a donation, volunteered their time, helped spread the word, or simply stopped by to support the Lions and our community.

This year, all of the money raised from the Chicken Barbecue is dedicated to our SNAP Match Program.

Through SNAP Match, the Cooperstown Lions Club helps local families who receive SNAP benefits stretch their food dollars further when purchasing fresh, locally produced food at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market. The program helps put more nutritious food on local tables while also supporting the farmers and producers who make our community special.

That’s what makes events like our Chicken Barbecue so important: the money raised here stays here, helping people right in our own community.

We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this year’s barbecue such a success.

Every dollar raised supports the SNAP Match Program at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market. A huge thank-you to everyone who made the 2026 Cooperstown Collaborative Susquehanna River Cleanup such a success!

We are incredibly grateful to the Otsego County Conservation Association, Cooperstown Lions Club, Cooperstown Rotary Club, SUNY Biological Field Station Dive Team, Trout Unlimited, Stagecoach Coffee, Casella Waste management, and the more than 40 volunteers who came out and worked together to help clean and protect our beautiful Susquehanna River.

We had a fantastic turnout, and it was inspiring to see so many people giving their time and energy to make a difference. Projects like this are only possible because of the generosity and community spirit of volunteers like you.

Another successful Hall of Fame Induction Weekend and another successful Cooperstown Lions Club fundraiser!

Lions John Rowley and Marianne Rae were busy manning our sunglasses station and helping visitors find the perfect pair. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported us!

Proceeds from our fundraisers help the Cooperstown Lions Club support local vision programs, scholarships, community service projects, SNAP Match, and other important needs throughout our community.

That’s right… our famous Chicken BBQ is pulling into a NEW station at:

On Saturday, August 29!

We’re trading in the barnyard for the rail yard, but don’t worry — the chicken will be prepared by Mel's at 22 and still tastes just as cluckin’ good! 🍗

📬🦁 Neither snow nor sleet nor dark of night… shall keep our lonely eyeglass mailbox from receiving your old glasses! 👓✨

Tucked away in the lobby of Bassett Medical Center sits a very special mailbox with an important mission. The Cooperstown Lions Club eyeglass collection box may look a little lonely at times, but every pair of glasses dropped inside can help change someone’s life.

The Lions Club collects donated eyeglasses, hearing aids, and cell phones, then helps refurbish and redistribute usable glasses to visually impaired individuals both locally and around the world. A pair of glasses that may have “run their course” for you could become the gift of clear sight, independence, and opportunity for someone else. ❤️

And while you’re supporting a great cause, come see us at the Military Classic Hall of Fame Game at Doubleday Field on May 23! ⚾
