Halloween is a time for costumes, community, and fun, and a little planning can help make celebrations more welcoming for people with different needs.

Accessible pathways, patience with communication, flexibility around how someone participates, and awareness of sensory needs can all help more children and adults enjoy the festivities.

From all of us at ILRSCC, have a safe and happy Halloween!

There is value in talking with someone who understands. ILRSCC's peer counseling services connect people with disabilities with peers who bring their own lived experience to conversations about challenges, goals, independence, and everyday life.

Peer support is about listening, sharing experiences, and helping one another identify possibilities and resources along the way.
