NAMI Contra Costa NAMI CC provides support, outreach, education and advocacy to families impacted by mental illness.

Welcome to NAMI-CC (National Alliance on Mental Illness Contra Costa). We are a vibrant non-profit organization that is here to educate, support, and give hope to people who are impacted by mental illness. Our purpose is to:
•Advocate at all levels to ensure that all persons affected by mental illness receive the services that they need and deserve, in a timely fashion.
•Educate consumers, their families, and the public about mental illness.
•Advocate for improved treatment and treatment facilities.
•Fight stigma and discrimination.
•Support legislation that helps those with neurobiological brain disorders.
•Improve private and public sector policies.
•Provide more housing with support services.
•Increase outreach to people with mental illnesses and their families.

NAMIWalks is America's fundraising event that truly walks the walk - powering NAMI for the important and inspirational work it does in our local community. Actually, it is more than a walk. It's a movement - a celebration of individuals, families, and communities coming together for one powerful purpose: Mental Health for All.
With more than 200 community Walks presented by NAMI State Organizations and NAMI Affiliates from coast to coast, when it comes to mental health, together, we are stronger. Together, we break down barriers. Together, we create hope. Together, we are NAMIWalks.

National Mental Health Day of Prayer

Honoring the Memory of Joaquin Tony Pereyra and Others Gone Too Soon with a Mental Health Day of Prayer Proclamation from the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors

We invite diverse faith and spiritual leaders, impacted families and peers, mental health service providers, educators, elected officials and concerned citizens from across the County to show up and advocate for treatment before more tragedies.

We hope you will join us as we take our voices to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to express concerns and share the challenges and frustrations loved ones face as they pursue appropriate, life-saving behavioral health services.

✨ Our September TAY Social was hosted by Alyssa and Uriel, who gave everyone endless opportunities to express their creativity through scrapbooking! ✂️📖✨

With so many materials to choose from, the sky was the limit. We explored our emotions, created cards for loved ones, made drawings, and designed motivational pieces to inspire us and keep us moving forward.

Of course, no TAY Social would be complete without pizza and karaoke! 🍕🎤 Time flies when you’re surrounded by peers, expressing yourself, connecting, and having fun.

NAMI CC TAY Socials provide a welcoming space for transitional-age youth to take a break from everyday responsibilities and challenges. Spending time with peers, expressing our creativity, relaxing, and simply having fun are meaningful ways to support our mental health as we navigate new responsibilities and life experiences.

Thank you to Alyssa, Uriel, and everyone who joined us for such an incredible September TAY Social. We’re already looking forward to next month! 💚✨
