Concord, CA Rotary Club going after Polio with Pinkies Up.
This week marks World Polio Day and a campaign to eradicate the
disease. The nail polish is meant to mimic the purple ink used to mark
the smallest finger of the children who receive a polio vaccine to help
prevent duplicate doses during a clinic. In every country in the world
except for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the disease has been eradicated
through vaccination.
