Welcome to our brand new quarterly newsletter, Beyond the Fairway, issue one! 📬

Nine pages, and the best line in it isn’t ours. Thirteen years ago Drue Sanchez was the shortest kid in the group, hitting off the red tee. In June he shot 66 to win the CIF State title, the first De La Salle golfer ever to do it. Then he came back to coach at our Lone Tree program.

Do you know a girl between the ages of 7 and 17 who's always wanted to try golf? Or maybe she's looking for a new activity where she can build confidence, make friends, and have fun?

Monday, August 3rd from 4pm-5:30pm at Skylinks at Buchanan Fields & Presented by First Tee - Contra Costa & LPGA-USGA Girls Golf

Join First Tee – Contra Costa for our FREE Girls Golf Community Event! No experience is necessary!

Our coaches & staff create a fun, safe, encouraging, and completely judgment-free environment where every participant can learn at her own pace, ask questions, and discover what makes golf such a great game. Whether she's picking up a club for the very first time or has played before, everyone is welcome.

Congratulations to our participant Mason Brooks, who will be attending the 2026 Game Changers Academy in Minnesota this week!

First Tee Game Changers Academy is a transformative five-day learning and empowerment experience. Selected teens from across the U.S. engage in meaningful discussions on self-awareness, inclusive leadership, and community building

This experience is designed to enlighten, inspire, and empower teens, preparing them to become Game Changers in their communities now and in the future.

We’d like to give a shoutout to our Ace Class participant Sidnee Castillo (pictured right) for being selected to the 2026 Congaree Global Golf Initiative. Congratulations Sidnee!

The Congaree Global Golf Initiative was founded in 2017. Its mission is to provide underserved and well-deserving high school students who aspire to play collegiate golf access to the highest level of athletic coaching and academic tools to enhance their opportunities for success.
