🌭🔥 Good food, great friends, and a new way to connect! 🌟
The Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo is always up for trying something new—and tonight was no exception! Instead of our usual meeting format, we gathered at Gehringer Park for a fun BBQ and networking event.

Our club members brought guests, shared a delicious potluck, and enjoyed some great conversation and fellowship. Our own Rich McNell took the reins at the BBQ grill and cooked up burgers and hot dogs for everyone. 🍔🌭

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped plan, set up, cook, bring food, and simply show up to enjoy the evening. Your enthusiasm and willingness to try something different are what make our club so special!

Knowledge is power—and empowering women through education is one of the best investments we can make.

Several of the women of the Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo were proud to attend Women, Wealth & Wisdom in support of our member and Past President, Trish Ramirez | Money Mindset Coach for Women , who served as one of the event’s distinguished panelists.

As Founder and President of Ramirez Wealth Management Inc., Patricia has spent more than 35 years helping women, families, and business owners build, protect, and transition wealth. She is especially passionate about supporting women through life’s financial transitions and empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions. Her leadership and expertise continue to make a meaningful impact both professionally and in our community.

Hosted at Wendy Moore’s beautiful home, the evening was made even more special by her warm hospitality, creating the perfect setting for meaningful conversations, learning, and connection.

Patricia was joined by an outstanding panel of professionals:

✨ Wendy Moore, Realtor, with Christie’s International Real Estate Sereno, shared her expertise on navigating the East Bay real estate market and achieving homeownership with confidence.

🏡 Kelly Franco, Home Mortgage Consultant, provided valuable guidance on simplifying the home financing process and understanding today’s lending opportunities.

⚖️ Jessica Ward, Trust & Estate Attorney, offered practical insights into estate planning, helping attendees better understand how to protect their assets and plan for the future with clarity and compassion.

Together, these accomplished professionals created a welcoming space for honest conversations, practical financial strategies, and actionable guidance to help women make confident decisions about their financial futures.

We extend our sincere thanks to Wendy for graciously opening her home and to all of the panelists for sharing their time, expertise, and passion for empowering women. We are especially proud of Patricia for representing our Rotary Club with such professionalism and heart.

Recently, Rotary business took our fearless District Governor Elect, Beri Kasper, and our Immediate Past President, Colleen Knight, to beautiful Gilroy, California, where they brought our beloved gleaning project on the road!

By expanding this meaningful service beyond our regular service area, Beri and Colleen demonstrated the true spirit of Rotary—serving where there’s a need and inspiring others to do the same. Their dedication reminds us that service knows no boundaries.

Way to represent the Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo and show how a simple act of giving back can make a lasting impact. Talk about inspiration! 💙💛🌾

Today, our newest members are taking the next step in their Rotary journey at New Member Orientation, led by District Governor Elect Beri Kasper.

Joining the session are our new members, Geet, Michelle, and Ruben, along with their member sponsors, Immediate Past President Colleen, and President Edi Birsan. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Rotary’s mission, values, and traditions while building connections that will support a lifetime of service and fellowship.

New Member Orientation is more than an introduction—it’s the foundation for becoming an engaged Rotarian and discovering the many ways to make a positive impact in our community and around the world.

We’re excited to welcome Geet, Michelle, and Ruben to the Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo and look forward to all they’ll accomplish as People of Action. Thank you to Beri Kasper and everyone who is investing their time to help our newest members begin their Rotary journey!

Today, Immediate Past President Colleen Knight joined volunteers in Livermore for a very special project, helping create a dream room makeover for a young girl battling a life-threatening illness.

Invited by one of our fellow Diablo Valley Rotary Club Presidents, Jocelyn Reite, Colleen volunteered with Rooms of Hope, a San Ramon-based nonprofit that has been serving Bay Area families since 2014. The organization creates personalized dream bedrooms and healing spaces for children facing serious or life-threatening illnesses, giving them a place of comfort, joy, and hope during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Colleen was joined by dedicated volunteers, including several Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Pleasant Hill, all working together to make the family’s day a little brighter.

Projects like this are a powerful reminder of what Service Above Self looks like in action. Thank you, Colleen, for representing the Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo and introducing us to an organization that is making a lasting difference in our local communities.

What a wonderful way to kick off the new Rotary year!

Rotary Club of Concord-Diablo President Edi Birsan welcomed members to his first meeting as Club President, setting the stage for another year of Service Above Self. We also celebrated Colleen as she begins her new role as Immediate Past President, recognizing her outstanding leadership and dedication to our club over the past year.

Our featured speaker, Tara Bartholomew-Legaspi from the Bay Area Crisis Nursery (BACN), shared an inspiring and informative presentation about the organization’s vital work supporting families in crisis. As the only licensed crisis nursery in the San Francisco Bay Area, BACN provides free emergency childcare, crisis care, respite care, food assistance, diapers, and other family support services that help prevent child abuse and neglect while giving parents a safe, compassionate place to turn during difficult times. Their work strengthens families and helps ensure children remain safe, healthy, and supported.

Tara also highlighted several volunteer opportunities currently available at BACN, including childcare volunteers, food pantry volunteers, food pickup and delivery, and event committee roles.
