Veterans Accession House

Veterans Accession House 🏡 Welcome to Veterans Accession House! We provide safe, supportive transitional housing for working & student Veterans facing homelessness.

Together, we build brighter futures. đź’™ As the Founder and CEO of the Veterans Accession House (VAH), I serve my fellow veterans by operating a charitable organization that offers secure, affordable, transitional housing for homeless or At-Risk Veteran students pursuing higher education. VAH presently houses a veteran family and single veteran students at its Pittsburg duplex house

. We net-works with local City Colleges, Private and State educational institutions to identify, at need student veterans. The VAH provides a living environment where veteran students can find the support and comradery of like-minded, goal oriented students. In addition to supporting student veterans with housing, and to meet their educational goals, program staff advocate for students, to the VA to ensure each student veteran receives the full range of benefits and entitlements earned from their military service. We collaborate with local industry, agencies and government entities to identify internships for students in-their-area of study. Veterans attaining their educational goals, will be aided in developing a professional resume, strategies toward career development, offer coordinated industry tours, and referral to partnering employers. MISSION
Of the Troops, for the Troops. Veterans Accession House (VAH) removes housing challenges that create obstacles that interfere with a veteran’s likelihood of completing their education. To provide an encouraging, living experience that fosters conditions where student veterans can focus on their studies. To provide educational counseling and work in partnership with a network of agencies and organizations to assure student veterans residing at a VAH, have access to available resources which may increase the likelihood of educational goals and overall success. GOAL
To grow the Veterans Accession House as a model of housing services for student veterans. Provide housing, educational counseling, health and life coaching, and employment referrals for veterans in Contra Costa County, with the short-range goal of replicating services across the Bay Area. VISION
To bring together local resources from veteran’s services organizations, local Community Colleges, State and Private Universities to ensure each student veteran and their family members gain access and received the resources needed to sustain their educational pursuits and to succeed.

A full fridge shouldn’t feel out of reach for those who’ve served.

Through DVNF’s Veterans Food Assistance Program (VFAP), we deliver groceries directly to veterans and their families—offering relief, stability, and the reassurance that they’re not alone.

As one Army veteran shared:
“The VFAP program has to be one of the biggest lifelines we could have asked for… Our fridge and freezer are completely full—something that has not happened for months.”

Your support helps bring that same peace of mind to another veteran in need.
