The Golden State Grind is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit sports academy dedicated to strengthening our East Bay community through youth bas

Our mission is to develop players to reach their full potential, both on and off the field, by providing the tools, resources, and support necessary for success at the college and professional levels. Over the past decade, the landscape of youth sports has undergone significant changes. Competitive environments and a win-at-all-costs mentality have often overshadowed the importance of morality, character, and sportsmanship. Founded in 2012, Golden State Grind was established to counter these trends with an emphasis on character development and skill-building. We believe that by doing things the right way, our players will develop the essential skills and character traits needed to succeed in life and sports. In a short time, Golden State Grind has achieved impressive success, competing at the highest levels and earning recognition for its expertise in player development. NOT EVERY COACH IS GOING TO BELIEVE IN YOU.

That’s part of the game.

You can work hard. Show up every day. Do everything asked of you. Be coachable. Be a great teammate.

And still have a coach who doesn’t recognize your potential.

Remember this:

ONE COACH’S OPINION IS NOT YOUR CEILING.

Never let someone else’s evaluation become the way you evaluate yourself.

And stop taking career advice from people without a track record of developing players or helping them reach the level you’re chasing.

Find coaches who have been there. Coaches who have developed players. Coaches who will tell you the truth, demand more from you, hold you accountable and still believe in what you can become.

Coach Duby will believe in your potential. But belief comes with a standard.

You have to be committed.
You have to work.
You have to be accountable.
You have to be coachable.
And you have to want it badly enough to earn it every single day.

GRIND Families,

As summer comes to a close and school gets back into full swing, we want to take a moment to say one very important thing:

THANK YOU.

This was officially our biggest GRIND summer yet.

Over nine incredible weeks, nearly 360 different baseball and softball players stepped onto the field with us. From first-time players learning the fundamentals to experienced athletes sharpening their skills, every week brought something different.

We trained. We competed. We played games. We battled through competitions. We crowned WIFFLE BALL champions. And yes, we handed out more prizes and GRIND swag than ever before.

But the numbers aren't what made this summer special.

THE MOMENTS DID. ⚾
We saw first hits. First diving catches. First home runs. First prizes.

We watched players show up nervous on Monday and walk off the field Friday with confidence.

We saw new friendships form, teammates encourage one another, players overcome challenges, and kids discover just how much they're capable of when they're willing to work.

And most importantly, we saw a whole lot of smiling faces. 🙌

Throughout the summer, we also shared lessons from some of the greatest players and competitors the game has ever seen, lessons about preparation, perseverance, confidence, teamwork, handling adversity, and doing things the right way.

We hope those lessons stay with your players long after summer camp ends.

NONE OF THIS HAPPENS WITHOUT YOU.
You trusted us with your kids this summer.

You brought them to the field, supported their development, and gave us the opportunity to coach them.

We don't take that responsibility or your trust lightly.

A new school year means new teachers, new classrooms, new teammates, new expectations, and new opportunities.

Encourage your players to bring the same attitude they brought to the field:
