This is the first Lost & Found Box I did that started this whole project and idea for an art charity. It was at first just a simple act of kindness I wanted to do and now it's grown into a mission to spread more love and kindness out into the world. I want to help as many kids as possible to "heal through art" and hope that I can help them see beauty in the world and humanity despite their heavy loss. I created a "recent photo" painting for Melanie since her father passed away when she was only 2. The letter was written from the perspective of Archangel Gabriel (the "Postmaster" of Heaven). My husband helped me to write the message and he thought about what message he would want to tell our daughter, which made the letter extra special in my eyes since he really captured the tone of a father's love.
Thank you all for your support and I hope word of the Lost & Found Art Charity travels far so that I may create art for all children in need. I am currently operating in the Bay Area (Antioch, CA) but hope to get enough commissions or donations to be able to fund my ability to ship Lost & Found Boxes out of state or even internationally!
