Mental health is personal.

What works for one person may not work for another, and that’s okay.

We see every day that each young person’s path looks different, and each one deserves care, understanding, and support along the way.

However that path looks, we all deserve 💚

Today, we honor and remember the brave service members who gave their lives in service to our country.

As we reflect on their sacrifice this Memorial Day, we are reminded of the importance of community, compassion, and caring for one another.

Please note that Huckleberry House administrative offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. However, our Teen Crisis Program and Shelter will remain open to teens (ages 12–17) who need a safe place to go.

Young people needing support or connections to resources through our YOP Shop can call and leave a voicemail at (614) 826-3630, and our team will respond as soon as possible.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day from all of us at Huckleberry House. 💙

Only you can define what a “good day” looks like to you.

👇 What makes a good day… good?

At Huckleberry House, we know that for young people navigating challenges, a “good day” might look like having a safe place to stay, someone who listens, or a moment to just breathe.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re coming together as a community to create more good days, one young person at a time.

The Wilder Family believes every young person deserves safety, trust, and hope.

That’s why they’re returning for Sleep Out 2026 as members of our Host Committee, helping raise awareness and support for young people experiencing homelessness in our community.

“[Sleep Out] creates space for connection—reminding our own children of the security they have, while helping them better understand the importance of compassion, gratitude, and action.”

Their guest blog is a powerful reminder that even one night can inspire empathy, advocacy, and change.

Because of this community, young people know they don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. 💙

Happy Mother’s Day

Today, we celebrate the mothers who make our community stronger every single day.

To the mothers on our staff who show up with compassion, care, and dedication for both their own children and the young people in our programs, thank you. 💙

To the mothers in our programs who continue to show incredible strength, resilience, and love while navigating challenges and building brighter futures for their families, we see you and celebrate you. 🧡

And to the mothers throughout our community, thank you for the countless ways you support, uplift, nurture, and inspire those around you. Without you, we would not be the thriving community we are today. 🩷

Because at the end of the day, because of mothers, we are community. ✨

“I want people to understand that, even though we’re just kids, we’re strong and just need others to help and guide us,” shared Aaliyah, a graduate of our Transitional Living Program.

We are incredibly thankful to ADAMH for sharing the stories of Aaliyah and Lilee and for investing in programs that help young people move from surviving to thriving.

Because of ADAMH funding, young people in our Transitional Living Program receive more than housing. They receive mental health support, life skills, stability, guidance, and a community that believes in them.

Today, Aaliyah is a lead camp counselor at the YMCA, creating positive change for young people in her own community. Stories like hers remind us what’s possible when young people are given support, opportunity, and care.

Because of you, we are community. 💙

Huckleberry House, Inc.’s Transitional Living Program is helping young people navigate housing instability and build a path forward. For Aaliyah, a program graduate, that support made all the difference in gaining confidence and working toward independence.

Through real experiences, see how guidance, stability and opportunity can create lasting change, and how partners like ADAMH help make it possible: https://adamhfranklin.org/more-than-housing-supporting-youth-on-the-path-to-independence/
