This can exceed much much more … when a family needs help with gas or groceries this is why KGCT wants to help .

Labs to watch

Key Blood Counts to Watch
• Absolute Neutrophil Count (ANC): Measures infection-fighting white blood cells. An ANC of 1,000 or less means neutropenia, and 500 or less means severe neutropenia, raising infection risk.
• Platelets: Help the blood to clot. Counts dropping to 20,000 or less mean a high risk of bleeding and may require a platelet transfusion.
• Hemoglobin (Hgb): Carries oxygen through the body. Levels of 8 or less indicate severe anemia and may require a red blood cell transfusion.
Organ Function and Other Markers
• Creatinine: Measures kidney health. High levels can show kidney stress or failure from disease or treatment.
• Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT): Measures liver health. Elevated levels can point to liver damage from medications or chemotherapy.
• Tumor Markers: Specific proteins or substances released by cancer cells that help track how the body responds to treatment.

• Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL): This is the most common childhood cancer. The five-year survival rate is now around 90% thanks to modern chemotherapy regimens.
• Hodgkin Lymphoma: A cancer of the lymphatic system that has a five-year survival rate of over 95% in children and teens when caught in early-to-moderate stages.
• Wilms Tumor: A common kidney cancer in children with a five-year survival rate of approximately 90% or higher with surgery and chemotherapy.
