We are so excited to officially kick off our partnership with Diamond Hill as the three-year sponsor of the 2nd & 7 Columbus Kids’ Book Bank! Their support will allow us to expand our programming, reach new audiences, and provide more free books for kids who need them in our community. Thank you to the Diamond Hill team for helping us fulfill our mission by creating access to books and getting kids excited about reading! Together we can create a direct local impact and improve literacy outcomes in Central Ohio.

Thank you to our June Book Giveaway sponsor Suburban Natural Gas Company! With their support, we can combat the summer slide where access to quality books can be a challenge for many families while school is out. Last week, we were able to provide over 4,700 free books to kids in Columbus who need them.

We also want to thank our friends at Sunny 95 for joining us with some great music and summer treats!

April and May were BUSY at the 2nd & 7 Columbus Kids' Book Bank! Thanks to many generous community donations and book drives, we collected over 19,000 books and distributed over 16,000 to kids who need them in our community. That would not have been possible without these amazing volunteer groups!

Every year we have the privilege of hearing from high school seniors across the country involved with the 2nd & 7 Role Model Reading Program! With our largest applicant submission to date, we couldn’t be more proud to introduce our seven scholarship winners for 2026!

This annual scholarship is open to all high school seniors who have volunteered for our Role Model Reading Program. A scholarship of $2,700 was awarded to these students who demonstrated what it means to pay it forward, while showing promise to continue to live a life of service to the community.

Happy Earth Day! Today and all year long, we're celebrating the power of reusing books and sharing stories. Did you know that each year an estimated 640,000 tons of books end up in landfills? That equates to hundreds of millions of books.

At 2nd & 7, we want to be part of the solution. Through the Columbus Kids' Book Bank, we collect thousands of donated books each month and redistribute them back into our community. Last weekend, we were fortunate to partake in the Seeds of Caring Earth Day Celebration to facilitate a kids' book swap. Events like these give stories new life and help our youngest readers see how small actions can make a big impact.

Together we can build a more sustainable future - one book at a time!
