PBR10K’26 deets. Get those tickets: The PBRs aren’t going to drink themselves

Whether you know or not know the story of the PBR10K and its history, it's certainly worth another telling.

On 2/29/2008, the PBR500 was waged at Gallo's Tap Room as approximately 75 willing participants knocked those back in about three hours.

The next year, the PBR1K took place and was the first fundraising event this group ever undertook. We raised $1700 for A Kid Again.

On 9/1/2009 the Parker Lee Foundation was born as a 501c3 in the State of Ohio and later that fall, recognized by the IRS at a federal level.

Our first official event as PLF was the PBR2K at the R-Bar. Over 300 attendees packed the R-Bar and knocked back over 2500 PBRs while raising $6500 for the Short Stop Youth Center. Also hatched was the genius plan to auction off the final beer which raised an additional $165 for the cause.

There are many chapters to this great American novel, however at a high level:

First Event: 2/29/2008
PBR events held: 17
Most attended event: PBR10K'17 with over 1225 tickets sold
Greatest $$$ raised: PBR10K'17 with $28,000 donated to Directions for Youth & Families.
Total funds raised: $274,325

As a result of all of this beer drinking and festivities, hundreds of Central Ohio youths have been positively affected.

Great day Saturday at Directions for Youth & Families Crittenton Community Center as the PLF Crew prepped gifts for 175 students in their program. Each student will get a nice warm throw blanket and a $40 Amazon Gift Card.

Since 2020, we have been raising funds to buy the kids at Directions for Youth & Families a Christmas gift of a warm blanket and an Amazon GC. As an incentive for getting donations in the door to help us, we raffle off a barrel of "spirits" - a half bourbon barrel filled with bottles of liquor and wine (20 bottles thus far this year). Each $10 donation gets an entry into the Holiday Spirits Raffle. A picture from last year's haul is attached.

Chili Bowl XI goes down tomorrow at Studio 35 Cinema & Drafthouse from 12 - 5 pm.

As always the event will support our Parker Lee Scholarship fund. Recently paid out $2000 in awards to three deserving Directions for Youth & Families students attending college.

The Chili Bowl will be filled with great drama and intrigue:

Can Todd Baumann defend this 2024 title?
Can CJ Jacobson get back on the winning track after taking a year off?
Will young buck Mitch Mayerchak continue his Chili Bowl growth and take home the Nasher?
Can Chili Bowl hall of fame Amy Niswander (veteran of all 11 Chili Bowls) hoist the hardware.

A plethora of great story lines.

All you need to know about the majesty of the 11th Annual 2 Fine 9s

A little warm but nearly picture perfect day greeted the 146 golfer field of the 11th Annual 2 Fine 9s held on Friday 9/19 at New Albany Links golf club.

Game day kids! 11th Annual 2 Fine 9s teeing off at New Albany Links Golf Club at 1 pm. A magnificent gathering of Parker Lee friends, many who’ve been with us through our entire 16 year journey. Another sold out outing with 36 foursomes hitting the links later.

As always, today’s outing benefits the great work done at Directions for Youth & Families. Love our relationship with this fine organization.
