It's important to remember to account for your audience when giving speeches, if the words you use aren't connecting then a translation is definitely in order.

When you realize a little backup might be a good idea. 👀

If you’ve ever:
• Rehearsed what you were going to say before speaking up
• Felt your heart race before presenting
• Avoided raising your hand in a meeting
• Forgotten what you wanted to say mid-sentence
• Overthought an email for 20 minutes

…you’re not alone.

A lot of people join Toastmasters because communication feels intimidating sometimes. What they usually discover is a supportive group of people all working on the exact same thing: becoming more confident communicators.

You do not have to be an experienced speaker to walk through our doors. Most people aren’t.

A lot of people think public speaking comes naturally to Toastmasters members.
The truth? Most of us joined because we were nervous, uncomfortable, or wanted to improve.

Toastmasters isn’t about being perfect. It’s about practicing, learning, and growing one meeting at a time.

Every speech, every Table Topic, and every evaluation is another step forward.

Progress over perfection - always.

Join us Wednesday, May 13th and see what Toastmasters is all about.

Word of the Day: Articulate

Being articulate means expressing your thoughts clearly and effectively—and it’s a skill we practice every week at Toastmasters.

Whether it’s a prepared speech or an impromptu Table Topics response, finding the right words (and saying them with confidence) makes a big difference.

Try using “articulate” in conversation this week… or better yet, at our next meeting 😉

Ever wondered what actually happens at a Toastmasters meeting?

Each week, our meetings are structured to help you grow at your own pace:
• Prepared speeches to build confidence
• Table Topics to practice thinking on your feet
• Evaluations that offer supportive, constructive feedback

It’s a welcoming space where you can learn, practice, and improve. No pressure, just progress.

If you’ve been curious, we’d love to have you join us Wednesday, April 29th. Guests are always welcome!
