06/26/2024
My Dearest Readers,
It is with great delight that I pen this missive on this most auspicious of days.
June 26th, a date that shall forever be etched in the annals of history, marks the anniversary of a momentous occasion: the passage of marriage equality in these United States, courtesy of the landmark ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges.
On this day, nine years ago, love triumphed over prejudice and equality soared above division, as the highest court in the land decreed that love, in all its splendid forms, shall be recognized and celebrated. The joyous tidings of this decree rippled across the nation, filling hearts with hope and homes with newfound happiness.
However, dear readers, let us not be lulled into complacency. While we celebrate this significant milestone, we must also recognize that the fight for true equality is far from over. The path to justice is fraught with challenges, and the rights we cherish must be vigilantly protected.
Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we remain engaged and active. Let your voices be heard in the corridors of power.
Exercise your right to vote, for it is through our collective action that we can ensure a future where love and equality are not just ideals, but realities for all.
Today, we honor not just a legal victory, but the affirmation of a tail as old as time: that love, pure and unyielding, knows no bounds.
Let us continue to stand together, united in the pursuit of equality for all.
Yours most sincerely,
Rainbow Dublin
