On Thursday, May 28, the Erie County Legislature is scheduled to hold an override vote on Local Law 3-1, Youth Hunting Law. Your help is needed to ensure that the legislators who supported 3-1 continue supporting youth hunting and vote to override County Executive Mark Poloncarz’s veto. The Sportsmen's Alliance created the framework and pushed "Families Afield" throughout the US, allowing youth and adults alike to try hunting under the eye of an experienced mentor. Getting people into the outdoors shouldn't be difficult or mired in bureaucratic as an introduction. Take action at the link.

MINNESOTA VICTORY: Radical anti-sportsmen lawmakers threw every dirty trick in the political playbook at us this year. They repeatedly rebranded and hid massive gun control packages under shifting bill numbers to sneak them across the finish line undetected. A WIN FOR SPORTSMEN! “SAF had significant concerns about the wide-sweeping impacts of the potential listing of GOA Chinook salmon as a threatened or endangered species under the ESA, which led us to submit extensive comments,” said Torin Miller, Associate Litigation Counsel at SAF. “SAF strongly agrees with NMFS’ conclusion that listing these Chinook as endangered is currently not warranted.”

GREAT ARTICLE ON OUR WORK IN WASHINGTON: "Rather than sit on the sidelines and hope the state's legal team would adequately defend hunting interests, the Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation took action. The organization filed a motion to intervene in the case, positioning itself as a direct participant in the proceedings so that the voices of Washington's hunters would have a seat at the table throughout the legal process. This is a calculated move. Government agencies, even when they're on the right side of an issue, don't always argue cases with the full force that affected citizens would. By intervening, the Sportsmen's Alliance ensures that the perspective of actual hunters — the people whose access to public land and game is directly on the line — gets heard in court. The organization is also pushing to have the lawsuit dismissed entirely."
