✨ Alumni in Action Spotlight ✨

Our Youth Tour alumni continue to achieve great things on campus, in their communities, and beyond! Check out what these outstanding delegates have been up to:

🎶 Sam Lowe was a 2022 Youth Tour delegate representing Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative. As an art education major at The Ohio State University, she has performed with the Women's Glee Club at Carnegie Hall and serves as Alumni Chair for The Ohio State Women's Rugby Club while competing as a member of the team.

✈️ Katie Carlisle was a 2023 Youth Tour delegate representing Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative. She is pursuing aviation at Wright State University and working toward earning her private pilot license with the goal of a career in commercial aviation.

🚀 Conner Wolfe was a 2023 Youth Tour delegate representing Consolidated Cooperative. He is studying aerospace engineering at The Ohio State University while playing cymbals in the Ohio State Athletic Band and helping build competition rockets through the Buckeye Space Launch Initiative.

📣 Lily Spenceley was a 2023 Youth Tour delegate representing Butler Rural Electric Cooperative. She is majoring in marketing at The University of Akron, cheers for the Zips football and basketball teams, earned Dean's List honors, and competed at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate National Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida.

🏉 Magnus Andrews was a 2024 Youth Tour delegate representing Carroll Electric Cooperative, Inc. - Ohio. He earned a scholarship to The Ohio State University, served as captain of his high school football team, led his National Honor Society chapter as president, plays rugby at Ohio State, and was selected to serve as a Resident Advisor.

We love seeing our Youth Tour alumni pursue their passions, embrace new opportunities, and make an impact wherever they go. Keep up the great work!

✨ Alumni Spotlight ✨

Meet Landon Blausey, a 2024 Youth Tour delegate from North Central Electric Cooperative!

Since his time on Youth Tour, Landon has continued pursuing his passion for engineering at MIT, where he studies mechanical engineering. He also secured a co-op internship opportunity with Fort Wayne Metals, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field.

We're excited to see all that Landon continues to accomplish and look forward to following his journey!

✨ Alumni Spotlight: College & Career Updates ✨

It’s always exciting to see where our Youth Tour alumni are headed! Check out what Gavin, Emily, Lyla, and Kailen have been up to since their time on Youth Tour:

🎓 Gavin Tuttle was a 2022 Youth Tour delegate representing Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative. He is pursuing a degree in industrial engineering at Youngstown State University, with plans to graduate in 2028.

🎓 Emily Keefer was a 2022 Youth Tour delegate representing North Western Electric Cooperative, Inc. She is majoring in environmental studies at Marietta College with minors in legal studies and leadership. She also serves on the board of directors for the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley and works on campus as a teaching assistant, writing center tutor, and course subject tutor.

🎓 Lyla Stockberger was a 2024 Youth Tour delegate representing The Energy Cooperative. She attends Miami University as a member of the Honors College where she double majors in sociology and social work. She is also involved in the Women in Law Club and works at OxVegas Chicken.

🎓 Kailen King was a 2024 Youth Tour delegate representing South Central Power Co. She is pursuing a degree in radiologic sciences and therapy at The Ohio State University. She graduated from high school as an Ohio Governor’s Merit Scholarship recipient and is working toward a NASM Nutrition Coach certification.

We’re proud to see our Youth Tour alumni pursuing their passions, building their careers, and making an impact along the way! 💙

✨ Alumni Spotlight ✨

Meet Grace Zahn, a 2023 Youth Tour delegate from Union Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc.!

Since her time on Youth Tour, Grace has continued pursuing her passion for medicine and neuroscience at the University of Dayton, where she studies pre-medicine and neurobiology. She has gained experience through microbiology research and volunteering with the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) at Miami Valley Hospital. Grace has also taken on a leadership role as a resident assistant at the University of Dayton.

We’re excited to see all that Grace continues to accomplish as she works toward her future in the medical field!

✨ Alumni Spotlight ✨

Meet Josie Speakman, one of South Central Power Co.'s 2022 Youth Tour delegates!

Since Youth Tour, Josie has built an impressive record of academic achievement, leadership, public service, and civic engagement.

At The Ohio State University, Josie majors in political science and minors in spanish and history. She has served as a student assistant for Dr. Charles Smith's Constitutional Law and Gun Politics courses and was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha National Honor Society for political science students while maintaining a GPA well above the required 3.5.

Josie also gained experience in state government through the Ohio House of Representatives, advancing from intern in the Office of House Minority Leader Allison Russo to legislative page and later constituent aide. In these roles, she developed constituent outreach materials, coordinated events, conducted bill research, and supported legislative office operations. She also stepped in for legislative aides when needed, gaining experience working with representatives and supporting the day-to-day operations of a legislative office.

Outside of her accomplishments, Josie demonstrated a commitment to civic engagement. She served as communications director before being elected president of the College Democrats at Ohio State and served as Secretary for the College Democrats of Ohio. Through these leadership roles, Josie helped register students to vote, campaigned for local and statewide candidates, organized meetings with candidates and elected officials, and helped coordinate a candidate forum for Ohio's House District 7.

Since Youth Tour, Josie has continued to grow as a leader and public servant. She describes the program as one of the most impactful experiences of her high school years and remains grateful for the opportunity to represent South Central Power. She still considers her Youth Tour pin collection one of her most prized possessions! We're proud of all Josie has accomplished since Youth Tour and can't wait to see what's next.

✨ Alumni Spotlight ✨

Meet Aiden McDougal, one of North Central Electric Cooperative's 2022 Youth Tour delegates! Earlier this year, Aiden shared an update on his journey as he wrapped up his undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnati and prepared to begin his master’s degree in systems engineering.

Since Youth Tour, Aiden has reached some impressive milestones. He interned at NASA Glenn Research Center as a simulation engineer while earning his piloting license, then joined Gulfstream Aerospace through a co-op program in Savannah, Georgia. At the time of his update, he was working in flight dynamics and flight testing, gaining hands-on experience in the aerospace industry. He also served on the executive board of his university's piloting club.

Aiden's story is a great reminder that Youth Tour delegates go on to do great things, turning their passions into careers, and making an impact in their communities and beyond. 🚀✈️

Last week, Kate Evans represented Ohio and Buckeye Rural Electric Cooperative at NRECA’s YLC Basecamp in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸Through leadership training, hands-on workshops, team-building activities, and meetings with cooperative leaders, Kate gained valuable skills and connections to help her serve as an advocate for rural America throughout her year on the Youth Leadership Council.

On their way home from Youth Tour 2026, delegates stopped by the Cardinal Power Plant in Brilliant, Ohio, where they got a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility and people that produce nearly all the electricity it takes to power the homes and businesses served by Ohio’s 24 electric cooperatives💡 From leadership lessons to new friendships and lifelong memories, Youth Tour 2026 was a HUGE success and is officially in the books. 🙌 Thanks for following along with our delegates!
