On Thursday, we celebrated the opening of our new building on Livingston Avenue. For years, CND has stood as a steady presence for youth and families – offering mentorship, education, violence intervention, mental health services, substance use treatment, and pathways to healing and opportunity. This new building represents not just a physical expansion, but a reflection of decades of commitment and resilience.

We are so thankful to our clients, partners, supporters, and board members who joined us today for the ribbon cutting, including Pastor Frederick Lamar from Family Missionary Baptist Church for the invocation, Columbus City Council President Shannon G. Hardin, Columbus Mayor's Office Chief of Staff, Elon Simms, Representative Latyna M. Humphrey, ADAMH Board of Franklin County CEO, Erika Clark Jones, and Bureau Chief at Ohio Department of Commerce, Danitra Butler.

Together, we are showing what is possible when we invest in our community!

Since 1989, Community for New Direction has been a place where lives begin again.

What started as a mission to support and uplift has grown into a continuum of care from prevention to recovery to long-term healing. Every program, every service, every story has been rooted in one purpose: helping people rebuild, reconnect, and move forward.

And now, that impact is growing.

On May 21, we will open the doors to Building Two, expanding our ability to serve, support, and stand beside even more individuals and families in the Columbus community.

This isn’t just growth.
It’s a deeper commitment to the people we serve and the future we’re building together.

On April 8, 2026, at The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks, the day was filled with real conversations, powerful stories, and meaningful connections. Columbus youth came ready to learn, lead, and push past limits and they did exactly that. 💬✨

Students engaged with dynamic speakers, participated in interactive breakout sessions, and wrapped the day with an unforgettable Youth vs. Adults basketball game 🏀

A day like this creates momentum and this group is just getting started 🙌

For more than 35 years, Community for New Direction has served our neighbors and helped build stronger communities.
