Today is National Alcohol Screening Day, a reminder that awareness can be a powerful first step toward support, healing, and connection. During Alcohol Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of creating safe spaces for honest conversations around substance use and mental health.

That is exactly why we are gathering for Church Talk this evening, Thursday, April 9, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church. Through reflection, resources, and conversation, we hope to encourage compassionate dialogue that helps individuals, families, and faith communities start the right conversation.

At MACC, we believe stronger communities begin with understanding, support, and access to meaningful resources.

Sunday wellness reminder: Connection matters.

Whether today includes time with friends, loved ones, beloved pets, or gathering in a place of worship, these moments of comfort, reflection, and togetherness can play an important role in our well-being.

At MACC, we believe stronger communities are built when people feel supported, valued, and connected.

As we move through April, may we continue making space for wellness, inclusion, and community care.

Sunday Wellness -

As March comes to a close, take a moment to pause and reflect.

What supported your well-being this month? What challenged you?

If you’re not sure where to start, try:
• Journaling a few thoughts about this past month
• Taking a quiet walk and reflecting without distractions
• Noting one thing you’re proud of and one thing you’re ready to release
• Checking in with your body—what do you need more of right now?

Wellness isn’t about doing everything—it’s about noticing what matters and carrying that forward. Give yourself permission to close this month with care and step into April with intention.

As part of National Nutrition Month, this Sunday reset is a reminder that nourishment goes beyond meals—it supports both your physical and mental well-being.

Simple choices like staying hydrated, eating balanced meals, or slowing down to enjoy your food can help you feel more grounded and energized.

As you reset for the week ahead, consider one small way you can nourish your body and mind.

Today marks both the International Day of Happiness and the first day of spring—a reminder that brighter days are ahead in more ways than one.

Happiness does not have to be big or complicated. It can look like fresh air, a moment to pause, or reconnecting with someone you trust.

As the season changes, take a moment to check in with yourself and with others. A simple conversation can make all the difference.

National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week reminds us that facts matter, but so do the conversations we have with care, honesty, and compassion. Through Start the Right Conversation, MACC encourages families and communities to create space for informed, stigma-free discussions about substance use, mental health, and support. Awareness starts with understanding, and change often begins with one conversation.
