We are incredibly honored to have received the Loann Crane Award from Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio this week, in recognition of dedicated, transformational support for reproductive health care and education. This award has traditionally been given to individuals, making it especially meaningful for the Women’s Fund to be among the first foundations recognized.

Over the course of two decades, the Women’s Fund has funded the Ohio Center for S*x Education Peer Education Program and, more recently, litigation efforts to uphold constitutional rights and expand access to abortion care.

As a Women’s Fund Founder and a Planned Parenthood champion, Loann Crane’s legacy lives on in this work every day. We’re proud to be part of it.

For May’s Women for Women Wednesdays, we have been uplifting past and present AAPI grant partners as part of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Today, we are featuring OPAWL - Building AAPI Feminist Leadership in Ohio, a grassroots community that organizes for social justice and elevates the voices, visibility, and progressive leadership of Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander women, nonbinary, and trans people in Ohio. By co-creating an organized and intersectional feminist member-led community, OPAWL is building collective power through community building, art and storytelling, political education, and organizing campaigns. Visit opawl.org to learn more about their work.
