Inspiring the Next Generation of Aviation Innovators!

Ohio Wing Civil Air Patrol was proud to partner today with the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE) for STEM Day at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport!

Our cadets and senior members supported this exciting, hands-on learning experience by providing cadet leaders to es**rt student groups from one STEM activity and display to the next.

At the Civil Air Patrol STEM station, Lt. David Leslie guided students through our drone simulator activity, introducing them to drone technology and giving them an opportunity to experience aviation in an interactive, engaging way.

STEM Day connected students with aviation, engineering, technology, and education partners, allowing them to see STEM concepts in action. Through leadership, aerospace education, and hands-on STEM experiences, Civil Air Patrol is helping inspire future aviators, engineers, and leaders.

A big thank-you to NAAMCE for bringing together partners who share a commitment to education, innovation, and the future of flight. Thank you also to our Ohio Wing volunteer cadets and senior members for representing Civil Air Patrol today.

Week 5: 70, Sixth-Grade Students

Another Wednesday, another opportunity to inspire the next generation!

Today, Civil Air Patrol returned to Butler Tech Aviation High School for the fifth of eight weekly events introducing middle school students from Middletown City Schools to aviation, teamwork, leadership, and service.

Approximately 70, sixth-grade students participated, rotating through our activities in groups of about 23 students.

Through these activities, students are discovering that an aviation mission involves much more than flying. It takes people who can build, think, communicate, make decisions, lead, and work together to accomplish a common goal.

We are proud to partner with Butler Tech Aviation High School and Middletown City Schools to give students opportunities to explore new interests and imagine possibilities for their futures.

Thank you also to our dedicated team of Civil Air Patrol senior members who week after week dedicate their time to making these experiences meaningful for young people.

Five events completed, three more to go! We look forward to welcoming more students next week.
