Big shoutout to Natasha from our Berwick Adult Day Services team! Natasha had an awesome idea—she wanted to plan a roller skating party for her friends! Instead of planning the trip for her, our staff encouraged Natasha to take the lead.

With some help from her support staff, Val, Natasha did an amazing job putting the whole party together from scratch. She researched different skating rinks, checked prices, and made the reservations.

She even made her own flyers and invited friends from both inside and outside of Goodwill to join her for a fun afternoon at the rink!

We are so proud of Natasha for taking charge and building her independence. We can’t wait to see what fun events she plans next!

Neighbors truly make a difference! Yesterday, our Work & Community Services team hosted KeyBank employees for their annual Neighbors Make The Difference Day.

The volunteer crew worked alongside our participants with dual diagnoses to complete several meaningful projects throughout our campus. They assembled new sensory swings, hung new lighting in the sensory room, and made tie-dye shirts together. They also served ice cream sundaes and led a lively game of Bingo.

We are incredibly grateful to KeyBank for spending the day with us and directly investing in Goodwill's mission!

There is nothing quite like a gift with a story behind it.

When Abigail, our Manager of Development and Corporate Engagement, was searching for a unique one-year anniversary gift for her husband, Will, she knew exactly where to look. She commissioned Charlotte, one of our incredibly talented Art Studio artists, to bring a special family memory to life!

The gorgeous painting is based on their very first family hike after adopting their dog, Chippy. 🐾

"I was so excited to see the result, and it was equally as exciting to see how happy Charlotte was to reveal it," Abigail shared. "I love that we’ll have this creative piece to look at forever."

After stepping away from healthcare during the pandemic, Margaret (center, blue jacket) spent a few years leading teams in manufacturing and retail. But the heart of a caregiver doesn't easily change path.

When she came to Goodwill Columbus to refresh her CNA credentials, she admits she felt a little nervous about being in a classroom surrounded by younger students just starting out. Instead, her years of seasoned experience turned out to be exactly what her classmates needed. She quickly became a natural leader and an invaluable anchor for her peers.

Having completed her Career Fundamentals, Margaret is now moving into our intensive four-week clinical certification program with a revitalized passion. As she prepares to reenter in-home and facility care, Margaret isn't just returning to healthcare—she is returning home.
