6 schools. 3 counties. 2 career centers.

That’s Jazz Lab 2.0 — and this video is what it actually looked like.

Sound science. Engineering. Virtual reality. Music as the thread connecting all of it. Students at Watkins Memorial Middle School walked in through curiosity and walked out seeing the world differently.

Deep gratitude to Battelle and Franklin County EECD for funding the vision.

To Berne Union MS, Watkins Memorial, and Amanda Clearcreek for opening their doors.

To Holly Rider and Alicia Staten at Eastland-Fairfield, Jayme Blackstone and the team at C-TEC of Licking County Makerspace Central and COSI — thank you for showing up every time.

Up next? Jazz Lab Summer Experience. ☀️

Tonight at 7 PM, Columbus meets the GTO trio 🥁

Gadi Lehavi on piano. Tal Mashiach on bass. Ofri Nehemya on drums. A sound that pulls from jazz tradition, Mediterranean rhythm, and South American influence — and lands somewhere entirely its own.

Their sophomore album Within is out now. Tonight is a good reason to hear it live first. 🎹

📍Columbus Museum of Art
Doors open at 6:30. $15 members / $20 nonmembers.

Thirteen years of Otterbein Music Department ‘s Summer Music Experience — and this year, A Tribe for Jazz was proud to sponsor students to be in the room. 🎺

Five days of intensive music study. Private lessons with professional faculty. Improvisation. Music theory. Digital music production. Performance psychology. Music history spanning classical to jazz to rock and roll.

Experiences like this are exactly what young musicians need to grow — not just as performers, but as artists who understand the full scope of their craft. Grateful for every student who attended and for the experiences that will shape their futures.

Swipe through for a look at the week. 📸

Sonic Motion came from a simple belief: the arts have to keep evolving.

Jazz improvisation. Contemporary dance. Electronic music. Digital art. All in the same room, at the same time. No single focal point. No prescribed way to engage. Artists and audiences discovering something together in real time.

When we imagine more, communities experience more.

Thank you to the for investing in bold ideas and making nights like this possible. ✨

…yes, it is that good.

Ofri, Gadi, and Tal performing “Abutbul’s Market” — live.
They’ll be bringing that same energy to on June 18.

JazzTimes called it “attention-grabbing from the start.”
Here’s your chance to find out why. 🎹

Gadi. Tal. Ofri. 🎼

GTO lands at the Columbus Museum of Art on June 18 — pianist Gadi Lehavi, bassist Tal Mashiach, drummer Ofri Nehemya, three of New York’s most in-demand voices on one stage.

They’ve played Carnegie Hall, the Village Vanguard, and the Tokyo Jazz Festival. Their album Within made JazzTimes’ top releases of 2025. The press called their interplay “attention-grabbing from the start.”

That’s an understatement.
