Without resources, vision fades. That's why resource mobilization is part of the NYOTA curriculum. NYOTA participants learn how to identify assets, cultivate partnerships, and make the case for their work.

They don't wait to be resourced. They learn to resource themselves.

That's leadership.

Women-led projects are more likely to finish on time AND on budget.

Yet women remain underrepresented in leadership.

In NYOTA, Sarah Kavira Visando learned to build business models, manage projects, and lead with confidence — and her colleagues took notice.

When women have the tools, ideas become impact.

She used to stay silent in community meetings. Now she facilitates them. That shift doesn't happen by accident. It happens because she found her voice and developed skills to use it.

In the Communication and Advocacy module, women learn how to speak with clarity, listen with intention, and advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities.

In a region where women's voices have too often been silenced, this is not a soft skill. It is an act of courage. One of the biggest barriers to women's leadership is being unheard. NYOTA changes that.

She wakes up before her children.
She cooks, she carries, she cares.
Then she shows up—to lead.

Women of Hope and NYOTA participants carry full lives and full workloads. Leadership doesn't pause for laundry, school runs, or sleepless nights. And yet, they show up anyway.

"You can't have everything you want, but you can have the things that really matter to you." —Marissa Mayer

That's exactly why the first module of the NYOTA curriculum addresses work/life/family balance.
NYOTA doesn't ask women to choose. It walks alongside them as they make bold choices.

This is what leadership looks like.

Women in leadership roles facilitate greater collaboration between private and public sectors. This, in turn, improves a community's economic sustainability.

Through this year's NYOTA cohort, 22 women in Beni, DRC are building their skills and confidence, to courageously step into those leadership roles.

The world needs more women at the table. NYOTA is helping to set it.

The evidence is in. Women's leadership saves lives.

Women in leadership are more likely to allocate resources toward education, health, and nutrition—and to prioritize the needs of women, children, and marginalized groups. And when women have a seat at the peace table? Studies show that peace agreements with women signatories have higher rates of
implementation and last longer. (UN women)

This isn't theory. It's documented. It's measurable. It's why NYOTA exists.

"Women are not waiting to be saved—they are already leading recovery in ways that hold their communities together." — UNDP Senior Official,

49 graduates. 9,000 lives. The data points in one direction.

From soap-making to advocacy for widows' property rights. From poultry farms to girls' leadership clubs in secondary schools.

These aren't hypothetical plans. They are real, active projects that the 22 women in the 2026 NYOTA cohort are leading.

One powerful cohort leading community initiatives as they learn to lead themselves.
This is what it looks like when women step boldly into leadership. And this is the impact your support makes possible.

96%.

In a region where women carry the weight of entire families and communities, 96% of NYOTA's cohorts crossed the finish line.

When you invest in a woman leader, the whole community wins.
