Just a friendly reminder!
Meals on Wheels of Columbia and the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture are celebrating our new partnership and MOW's 54th anniversary next week with a Columbia Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting!

Where: CCUA's Welcome Center, 1751 W. Ash St. in the Agriculture Park, in front of the Columbia Farmer's Market pavilion and near the Activity & Recreation Center
When: Wed. Nov. 4 at noon
Why: Come enjoy cake, take tours of the kitchen where the meals are made each day, and learn about how to get involved with both organizations! Order and sample a meal just like the ones we serve our MOW clients each day!

We hope you'll join us as we celebrate this exciting milestone!!

Lisa Geger, Director of Youth Formation at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a past Meals on Wheels volunteer, brought treat bags for our volunteers this morning! The bags were assembled by the church’s 2027 Confirmation class, with each one featuring a special appreciation tag that read, “Thank you for all you do for Meals on Wheels. You are a treasure! From your friends at Our Lady of Lourdes.”

We couldn’t agree more! Thank you to Lisa, the Confirmation class, and Our Lady of Lourdes for thinking of our volunteers and helping them feel appreciated! Lisa is pictured with Meals on Wheels Executive Director Teri Walden.

We are always so happy to celebrate our volunteers at our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner! Many thanks to Joe Weston for emceeing; Adam Saunders for speaking; and Chef Beth of Thompson Tables for making an outstanding meal. Our volunteer packers received the Indispensable Volunteer Award for helping us faithfully through the move to CCUA and their overall service: Susan Burns, Joe Giacchi, Ellen Lanphere, Nancy Harmon, Mary Dodds, Paulette Anderson, Michael Cox, Annette Humphreys, Chris Walsh, Nancy Weiner, Suby Wallace and Janelle Patterson. Fred McCabe received the Spirit of the Driver award. Thanks to William-Keepers for being our sponsor! Thanks to the Columbia Garden Club for the table centerpieces! It was a delightful evening.
