SUPER EXCITED !!
Even during this pandemic, our work of empowering single women didn’t stop. We managed to implement projects in person and virtually. We are super excited to share an amazing project we just implemented in partnership with Aadhar, a non-profit mental health organization in Nepal.

Yang-Ward Foundation has been implementing various projects in Nepal and Zambia to empower single women in rural areas to gain financial independence. Please meet our new project beneficiary, Bimala B.K. 28 years old, a single mother of 2 daughters aged 11 and 9. Bimala B.K. was married at the age of 13 and her husband left her and family without any notice after years of marriage.

Being married at such young age, and having to raise two daughters on her own, Bimala is a fighter. She was brought to our attention by Aadhar, who is providing her mental health sessions to deal with the traumatic experience she underwent through years. She has been working as a laborer for the past 9 years, making a minimum wage . She is living in a house she built by herself in the rented land. She has a small chicken coop at her home. She took training for tailoring 3 years back and now is skilled in women’s clothing. She is currently providing tailoring service from home using her friend’s equipment. She was interested in opening a home-based tailor service and wanted to start tailoring training too.

With her inspiring life story, passion and desire to work hard to turn her life around, Yang-Ward Foundation is so excited to start this project to benefits Bimala B.K. didi. We provided all the materials, and equipment needed for her tailoring business. We also bought cosmetic products so she could sell them to her clients. She even made the clothes for the Aadhar team (the dresses Aadhar members are wearing in pictures). And let me tell you all, she has an amazing voice. She sang a Folk song for me as a thank you. Thank you Aadhar team for this incredible work. We are super excited and cannot wait to see the progress of Bimiala B.K. didi in coming days.

Yang-Ward Foundation completed it’s 6th project in Nawalparasi, in the South-Western part of Nepal in 2019. Our projects include a retail shop, tailoring shops and goat farmings. Within a short period of their implementation, we have seen the positive impacts these projects are bringing to our project beneficiaries. Himali Rinjali Magar, a single mother of two, is generating substantial income from her retail shop. She is paying some of her debt and sending her two kids to school. This is just one example how our work is bringing about positive changes in their lives. We could not have done all this work without the help and support from our well-wishers, volunteers, and donors. We hope to launch more projects impacting additional deserving people in rural areas. Thank you everyone for making 2019 a good year and full of positive changes. We hope to get your unwavering love, support and best wishes even in 2020 as we have bigger plans for our foundation.

We are back with our new project update!!

Yang-Ward Foundayion (www.yangward.org) implemented another “Goat Farming” project in Bardaghat-10 Nawalparasi, South West part of Nepal. Our project beneficiary, Parbati Paudel, age 45, a single mother of 4 struggles on a daily basis to meet her family’s needs because of her poor financial condition.
With the help of our field coordinator, Sulav Khanal, we identified Parbati Paudel as our new project beneficiary. Despite her poor economic condition, Parbati Paudel showed strong desire to work something on her own to turn her life around. Based on her interest, we launched goat farming project to help her. Hybrid goats were handed over to her during the hand-over ceremony. Former constituent Assembly member, Bikram Khanal uncle, Local leader Raju Mishra, several other local leaders and social workers were present during the ceremony. We are excited and cannot wait to see the progress of Parbati Paudel.

I am literally in tears as I write this status. I finally got to meet one of our project beneficiaries, Himala Rinjali Magar didi , a single mother of two in Bardaghat, Nawalparasi. We implemented “Retail Shop” (Kirana Pasal) project last year with the aim of gaining financial independence for Himala didi. With the biggest smile and excitement , I am so proud to share the news that we have met our goal. With the income from the shop, Himala Rinjali Magar didi have managed to pay the school fees of her two children, buy them clothes and have income to meet her daily needs. We could not be more happier and prouder! We could not have done this without the help and continuous support of our very own uncle Bikram Khanal, former constituent member, and Sulav Khanal, our field coordinator. Thank you for such a heart warming welcome and hospitality.
