Dear Friends of Frankie San,

If you remember from the Prisoner by Choice Frankie San Story documentary, Frankie is currently faced with Alzheimer's Disease. He is nearly 96 years old and most days he is cheerful.

But he is out of money.

His friend Larry Tyree has cared for Frankie for several years, but Larry is now facing some serious health challenges of his own. Larry's wife Laurie has taken the responsibility for Frankie's finances and care.
The Tyree's and others close to Frankie (and some who have simply heard his story) have contributed financially to help Frankie. But his in-home health care costs $3000 per week.
They have investigated a reverse mortgage to relieve the financial burden, but that has proven quite the hassle. Also, while all of his friends had hoped to keep him home as he wished, there are now talks with an elder care lawyer about moving Frankie into a nursing home...but that process could take up to a year.
Please consider helping Frankie.

HELP US HELP FRANKIE
Hello friends of Frankie. If you have watched the film you know that Frankie has Alzheimer's. Still he remains relatively happy...though communication is difficult because he mostly remembers Japanese. Thanks to dear friends and a great home care company, Grace Home Care Servces, he remains in his home with 24/7 care as he wanted. However, he is running our of money. His Caregivers and friends have been helping financially, but the cost of 24/7 home health is significant. Would you help us Help Frankie?

The people at Fisher Films (who made the Prisoner by Choice Documentary) hold Frankie in the highest regard and are joining the effort to help Frankie. If you saw the Prisoner by Choice documentary, you know it was an excellent telling of Frankie’s life story. What you may not know is that Fisher Films poured many hours of volunteer work into that documentary. When they presented the project budget to the Crumley Archives, they offered to assume the risk. The full projected budget was never fully raised (but fell short by about $35,000). Still the film has been well received by viewers, but it has not yet made any financial return for Fisher Films in distribution.
Out of necessity, Fisher Films has simply calculated the film as a financial loss and left it in distribution to bless whoever may see it, but they had not planned to invest any further time or funds in promotional efforts. However, hearing of Frankie’s plight, they have asked Crumley Archives to try to help raise that remaining $35,000 that was never raised so that they can promote Frankie’s story and perhaps help raise more help for Frankie’s continued expenses. If that original budget can be finally raised, they will purchase Frankie’s film life rights to help with his immediate needs and will then work to further promote Frankie’s story in order to garner longer term help for Frankie into the future. Some of Frankie’s closest friends think he could make it to 100.
