Pasture Pals Equine Rescue Pasture Pals Equine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit run by volunteers. We offer group and Family tours by appointment daily!

Our purpose is to Rescue, Rehabilitate, and Re-home Equines and to Educate people on their care and upkeep. 100% volunteers! We never intended to be a rescue, but here we are, a 501c3 Non-Profit Equine Rescue. Come out meets us, volunteer, sponsor, or donate! We love to show off the animals in our care! About us:

1st off, we are not a training facility. Alex grew up with horses and has a strong thirst for knowledge always researching and learning new and better techniques for care and handling. She has years of experience with animal care and training from equine to rodent. We do not have anything fancy here. Everything was built with what we could find, what we could afford, and what was donated. The animals are well fed, well cared for, happy, and healthy. They don't care how it looks, just that we take good care of them. So if you are interested in "fancy" this would not be a good fit for you. We rescued our first horse on May 1st 2012, since then we have rescued hundreds of animals and successfully rehomed over 300. If you click on our albums, we will show you the pictures from when we first brought them home and how far they have come. We have had to turn away more horses then we have rescued, mostly because we just didn't have the people to take care of them. That hurts my heart, but we can only do what we can do with out more help. Hot, cold, rain, or shine; our days start with mucking out stables and making the rounds to feed everyone, and end pretty much the same way. Once they came to live with us they became like our children, and we will do our very best to always make sure they are well cared for. We have round rings and stalls in the yard, Run-in shelters and lots of horses, donkeys, mules. minis, ponies, potbellied pigs, goats and even a couple dogs that need time and attention. We have lots of donated tack, bridles, halters, lead ropes, lung ropes, and saddles available. Most of the animals came from varied backgrounds, most where abused and/or neglected, and many were thrown away by their previous owners. They are all healthy and gorgeous now! We wouldn't care if they were all pasture pets, but they get bored with that, and it would be a waist for such beautiful animals, so they are all in need of training and attention while looking for their forever homes. What We Offer To You:
Volunteer Situations, Community Service Opportunities, " Dedicated Volunteers" or Work trade Leases, Adoptions and Boarding for Adopted Animals. This is a place to care, learn from, and teach and others, while making a better life for the animals in our community.

Southern Belle, Foaled 10/20/2017, Appaloosa, American miniature, mare

Southern Belle and Mini Mae were found tied to one of our safety net members fences. She took them in and did the best she could their halters were grown into their faces, and they were bony. She tried her best to get them back to health but she was in no condition to keep them. And so she called us. We picked up Southern Belle and Minnie Mae and brought them to pass the PPER a few days later.

Southern belle was known to kick and bite however she is not shown any of those behaviors here. They definitely have not been handled whereas Southern Belle is a bit more friendly she will require quite a bit of training. With overgrown feet and lack of training. We first called the vet for evaluation they got their shots and coggins and she got her first hoof trim under sedation.

We are working on getting southern belle to be more trusting and she will allow us to rub her at this time. She can be somewhat difficult to catch. She appears to be fairly healthy and in pretty good shape. But she will require a lot of training and care.

A quiet walk with your horse can feel harmlessโ€”but footwear matters more than most people realise. One misplaced hoof, a sudden sidestep, or a startled shuffle can turn a lovely moment into a painful injury in seconds.

Flip-flops leave toes, the top of the foot, and the ankle almost completely exposed. They can slip, catch in mud, or come off when you need secure footing. Around a horse, that lost second can make all the difference.

๐—›๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ปโ€™๐˜ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ต๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐˜‚๐˜€โ€”but they are large, powerful animals with heavy hooves. Even the calmest horse can move unexpectedly. A stepped-on foot may mean severe bruising, crushed toes, broken bones, or a long recovery. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Choose sturdy, closed-toe boots whenever you lead, groom, load, turn out, or work near horses. Look for a firm sole, good grip, and enough structure to protect your feet. Proper riding boots or work boots are a small investment that can prevent a big accident.

๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ปโ€™๐˜ ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ดโ€”itโ€™s respect for the animal, the environment, and yourself. Before you head to the yard, check your footwear. Your feet will thank you. ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’›

Even a quick trip from stable to field deserves care. Dress for the task, every single time. ๐ŸŒฟ
