Chapter members James Wheaton and Peter Ballard looked to have escaped being frozen during the last contest of the year at the Bear Creek Bash.

Peter Ballard finished 7th overall in sportsman’/ with a score of 73.35% Borrowing Marty’s Pitts S2A. Well done! It is always tight competition in Sportmans.

James Wheaton brought down his One-Design and finished 5th overall with a 74.06% in Intermediate and scoring a podium finish of 3 on the known! Great job!

This wraps up contest for the year, but with a finish like this, 2025 season is going to be fun!

Practice Day scheduled for Saturday, October 19 at Johnston Regional Airport (KJNX).

For the practice day, we will be using the Community Hangar at JNX, which has bathrooms, a nice conference room, and will be our base of operations. We have also have a designated part of the ramp for our parking, staging, and operations, denoted below in the Green Boxes. When you arrive, taxi to those areas and park with your tail towards the back like a cul de sac.

The lineman have also requested when clearing the runway, call out "Taxiing to community hangar". This will tell them you are part of the practice day.

Note that we need to leave a spot for any equipment to be removed from the community hangar by ground crew if needed. These areas will be marked off with cones. We also cannot block Duke Life flight, so the area extends to the corner of the next hangar.

If you are driving, park in the areas marked with blue below and with the arrows, and walk up to the gate. Squawk VFR to get in.

They are also clearing out the overhang for our judges line so we have shade. While the construction is ongoing, walk around the fence to and from the staging areas (Dotted red line). If the winds favor the East Aerobatic Practice area, we can also set up a judges line in the shad of the community hangar.

The red start marks the location of the conference room in the community hangar that will be the base of operations.
