What does it mean to invest in the next generation of breast cancer leaders? 🩷

For Dr. Ankita Roy, it meant returning to Northwestern as a Lynn Sage Breast Surgical Oncology Fellow to train alongside some of the nation’s leading experts in breast cancer care.

Throughout her fellowship, she cared for patients at one of the country’s highest-volume breast centers, collaborated across surgery, medical oncology, radiology, genetics, plastic surgery, and radiation oncology, and led research aimed at answering important questions about a rare, high-risk breast lesion—work that has the potential to help shape future treatment guidelines.

But when asked what made the experience truly transformative, Dr. Roy pointed to something else: mentorship.

“It’s been a very gratifying journey... operating side by side with the mentor who inspired me to become a breast surgical oncologist. That mentorship has been invaluable.”

Because of Lynn Sage supporters, fellows like Dr. Roy receive more than advanced training. They gain the experience, mentorship, and collaborative environment that prepare them to become the next generation of leaders in breast cancer care.

This is what investing in the future looks like.

What if the body’s own immune system could become one of our most powerful tools against breast cancer? 🔬💗

Lynn Sage Scholar Dr. Jaehyuk Choi is developing new immunotherapies that strengthen the body’s own immune cells to better recognize and attack triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of the disease.

By investing in innovative researchers like Dr. Choi, Lynn Sage is helping advance bold ideas that have the potential to expand treatment options and improve outcomes for patients facing limited therapies.

Every breakthrough begins with research. Learn more about Dr. Choi and his research at the link in our bio. 🔗

Last month, three Lynn Sage Scholars shared updates on their groundbreaking research. What happened next was just as inspiring as the presentations themselves.

Researchers asked questions. They shared ideas. They challenged one another’s thinking. They made connections that could spark the next breakthrough.

At Lynn Sage, we don’t just invest in breast cancer research. We bring brilliant minds together. By convening researchers across disciplines and career stages, we help foster the collaboration, mentorship, and exchange of ideas that accelerate discovery.

Because breakthroughs don’t happen in isolation. They happen when great science meets great collaboration.
