For the third consecutive year, the Durban Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI), in partnership with the The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, will be hosting a free and open-to-the-public celebration in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm!
This year’s Spirit of Nelson Mandela theme, “Making a Difference for Others: 67 minutes of service", is a global call to action encouraging people worldwide to dedicate 67 minutes of their time to community service and public good. The initiative honors Nelson Mandela, representing the 67 years he spent fighting for social justice, equality, and human rights.
