Good Luck to the Chicago Parks Foundation and everyone else running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Volunteer with Chicago Parks Foundation at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon!

We're coming up on one of our favorite times of the year. The Chicago Parks Foundation has 340 runners participating in the 2026 Chicago Marathon as a part of Team ChiParks. This is the largest annual fundraiser for our organization - since its start, Team ChiParks runners and their generous supporters have raised over $3 million in total for Chicago parks.

We can't make it happen without your help! CPF is seeking volunteer support at our Race Day Tent in Grant Park on Sunday, October 11th.

Multiple shifts available. Learn more below and sign up today. Questions? Contact Brandy at [email protected]

There has been a lot happening on the disc golf course the last few days and it is looking better than ever. We partnered with the University of Chicago Civic Engagement and Community Service Center to host incoming students for a day of service. It is their first introduction for Jackson Park and we lead them on a tour while doing some trash pickup.

The cat family has been rescued and found a new home. Thank you to Hyde Park Cats for their guidance and our disc golf family who adopted them. We appreciate everyone who reached out to let us know.

Who wants to go play a round here?

This might be the craziest episode we've ever made. A cookie factor...

Spotted lanternflies are here in Illinois, and disc golfers are constantly wandering through parks, woods, tree lines, and exactly the kind of places these invasive beasts like to hang out.

See one?

Take a clear photo FIRST.
(Note where you found it and what it was on.)

Send the photo and details to [email protected] so Illinois researchers can track their spread.

Then kill it!

Illinois Department of Agriculture recommends crushing adults and nymphs after reporting them. Use a disc or your buddies since it never hits chains anyways.
