The Chicago Chapter started the new Program Year with our Annual Jack and Jill Day celebration. It was a day of service in support of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital - 5K at Brookfield Zoo. We commemorated the memory of Carole Robertson with a ceremony led by our Jacks and Jills, and we came together for fun family bonding. More photos to come, but we're off to another great start! The Chicago Chapter is excited to welcome the 2026-2027 Program Year!💙💗

🗳️ VOTER EDUCATION | KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

In partnership with BLC, Business Leadership Council Chicago, the Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, Chicago Chapter is helping our community stay informed and prepared for the November 3, 2026 Midterm General Election.

📅 Key dates to know:

• September 24, 2026: Early voting begins at election authority offices and official vote-by-mail ballots may begin being mailed.
• October 29, 2026: Vote-by-mail applications must be received.
• November 3, 2026: General Election Day. Polls are scheduled to be open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM statewide.

🎓 Young voters matter too. If you will be 18 by November 3, you can register and vote. Eligible 16- and 17-year-olds may preregister in Illinois, and college students should confirm their registration address and voting options.

Before Election Day, take a few minutes to check your registration, review what’s on the ballot, confirm your voting location and hours, and understand your vote-by-mail options.

🩷💙 CHICAGO CHAPTER MOTHERS TOOK THE STAGE! 💙🩷

Our Chicago Chapter Mothers continued to lead, influence, and lend their expertise to important conversations across industries. We were proud to celebrate three of our Mother Members who took the stage and shared their knowledge, experience, and leadership!

✨ Sherina Maye Edwards took the stage in Orlando at the Corporate Counsel Women of Color Conference, joining accomplished women from across the country for conversations centered on leadership, career advancement, and impact.

✨ Latia YoungFountain took the stage at both the Sistas in Sales Summit and LinkedIn’s Talent Connect Summit in New York City. At Talent Connect, she led a candid discussion on building an agile talent organization in a time of rapid change, sharing leadership experiences, organizational strategies, and operating principles that helped talent teams navigate uncertainty, scale effectively, and build resilience.

✨ Lynn Watkins-Asiyanbi shared her leadership expertise with Chicago United’s Emerging Leaders. Lynn helped lead a dynamic conversation on the skills professionals needed to navigate career agility, build resilience, and lead with confidence in an evolving workplace.

From Chicago to Orlando to New York City, our Mothers demonstrated leadership in action, sharing their expertise, shaping important conversations, and making an impact well beyond our Chapter.

💗💙 CHICAGO CHAPTER LEGACY EXCELLENCE! 💙💗

We are incredibly proud to congratulate our very own Legacy, Katie Joy Williams, on being selected as a 2026–2028 Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for Public Service recipient! 🎉👏🏾

Katie, a Chicago native and student at Wesleyan University, is majoring in Government and Economics with a minor in Civic Engagement. Her passion for public service has already led her to serve as Chair of Public Safety for the Chicago Mayor’s Youth Commission, where she advised city officials on public safety policy and worked with community organizations on youth programming.

The Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship is a two-year leadership development and scholarship program supporting the next generation of public-service leaders. Recipients receive up to $50,000 in financial aid, a $10,000 Summer Voyage stipend plus Airbnb housing support for an immersive work-travel experience, $20,000 in post-graduation travel support, and access to leadership development, mentorship, networking, and the Obama Foundation’s global community.

Katie, we are so proud to see you continuing the Jack and Jill tradition of leadership, service, and making an impact in your community and beyond.

To all of the amazing children and teens, from our littlest learners to our high school seniors, we are cheering you on as you step into a new year filled with learning, growth, friendships, leadership, and new possibilities.
